Not the power head nor the turbo and parquet brushes which are worth the upgrade

Those are worth the $420+tax difference? (also, no PST for units shipped to BC) so $490 for the extra accessories. Not worth it for me.

There's a C3 on eBay for $100 more with the turbo brush. Thats worth it if you have any rugs or light carpet.

Normally this model is $459 at Costco when they have stock

The person I quoted was specifically asking which model the bagless one corresponded to, since they couldn't find the "Universal" model referenced anywhere.

Yes, but the model they were asking about does not compare to the Total Care CX1 (which has the turbo brush and parquet). Anyway, this is really Miele's fault - their descriptions / model names are excessively confusing. For example, Powerline doesn't necessarily mean the unit is capable of driving an electric brush; it just refers to the total output (1200 W).

The cheaper Miele's can seem like bargains, but they are really just stripped down models.

I can't find any reviews on a UNIVERSAL line anywhere on google. It seems like the CX1 comes in the forms of:

Pure Suction
Turbo Team
Electro+
Cat & Dog
Homecare

No mention of UNIVERSAL anywhere.
Personally, I would avoid any bagless vacuum, including the Miele CX1. The cost of bags is insignificant when compared to the additional convenience, superior filtering, and better longevity of the vacuum.

I buy the Miele clone bags off Amazon and they are absolutely identical to the pricey Miele bags, the ones I get have the tab that closes the bag when you remove it from the canister. In 15 years I have never had to replace the HEPA filter, it's still clean. I put that down to how well the Miele bags acutually filter the air first. Another thing most people don't realize is that HEPA filters actually improve with some usage than when new. So there's no reason to change them every year.
I don't think it's worth buying non-genuine bags – you don't know how good they will be from batch to batch. When they're on sale (couple of times per year), the genuine GN bags are around $3.25 each.

That is the pre-motor filter that captures anything that possibly might get through the bag before it hits the fan blades.. The HEPA filter is for exhaust air after its passed through the motor . Those don't come with every set of bags
You're right, I got them mixed up because there's another cheap white cloth one that you can slip into the big filter black plastic holder thing, which I've never used because I've always used the active clean or hepa ones.

I've read the past 3 pages and I'm still confused.

I have carpet + hardwood flooring, so I need both heads according to ebay-canada-refurbished-miele-complete- ... #p35341814 (both parquet and turbo/power head)

Which one do I buy?

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/174751140153 is bad for me because it only has parquet head, but no turbo/power head.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/393404617387 is bad for me because it only has turbo head, but no parquet head.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/393500269996 is bad for me because it only has power head, but no parquet head.
https://www.costco.ca/miele-blizzard-cx ... 80813.html is bad for me because it's bagless, and I want bags, but it has both heads(?)

Is this the one I should get and has both heads? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/202776165397 How is pricing on it?

Or...do I buy the C3 Excellence with the power head, then buy the parquet head from somewhere else separately?

That would make https://www.ebay.ca/itm/393500269996 and https://www.ebay.ca/itm/174751138383 viable.

Where are you guys buying the parquet head from?

This is a legit vacuum. Purchased mine at Costco.
I've had shark robot and cheaper vacuums with shark steam mop but my laminate floors always still felt sticky/dirty. After using miele, there's barely any dirt from steam mop or any stickiness.

I've also been doing the same research so still new at this. The experts here can correct me if I'm wrong but from the sounds of it you're right, https://www.ebay.ca/itm/393500269996 and https://www.ebay.ca/itm/174751138383 are probably your best options since it's a lot cheaper than the https://www.ebay.ca/itm/202776165397, even if you buy the parquet head separately.

From what I've been reading, it's probably worth paying a little more for the XL size instead of the standard because it's larger so presumably gets the job down quicker since it covers more space at a go. On Miele.ca I see the standard for $74.99 and the XL for about $94.99. They're probably around the same price or even a little cheaper on Amazon. I've seen a few comments about losing some suction with the XL though.

Buying any model with a electric brush future proofs your purchase, as you can add the parquet brush later. Models that ship without the power head cannot be later upgraded, as they lack the right hose and hardware.

For anyone on the fence about a Miele, just do it!
We fell for the Dyson hype 7 years ago and bought the ball upright, and a handheld.
Both vacuums broke multiple times and had to be sent away for warranty repairs more than few times.
Our friends had the same experience. Funny story, I bumped into my friend at the vacuum repair shop where we both were picking up our Dysons from another warranty repair.

Fed up with the abysmal Dyson quality, we decided to take the plunge and dropped $1,000 on a Miele C3 with the lighted adjustable power head 4 years ago.
Miele vacuum are the best vacuums; PERIOD! They are maneuverable, cord clean up is literally a press of a button, and after you vacuum, the room actually feels clean because the dust isn't blown back into the room.
We use the Miele multiple times a day to clean up our main (hard) floor, because it is such a joy to use, and because we have rug-rats that love to eat crumbly foods.

The C3 uses the larger GN bags, which last me about 6 months. The cost of the bags are pretty cheap ($40 for a box of 8) considering how high quality they are. After 4 years, I'm still working thru my first box of 8 bags, and have 3 bags left to go.

When we bought our Miele, it came with a 10 year warranty, so it's still got quite a few years left on it.
But if our vacuum broke today, we would instantly go out and buy another Miele even if it wasn't on sale.

I'm getting a "This code can't be applied to your order." error when entering my RBC code at checkout. Trying to snag a C3 Excellence from McHardy Vacuum. Anyone else have this problem?

Worked for me this morning on the C3 LE Tanberry (was 2 left in stock).

Regarding the purchase I wonder if I should've gotten a C3 version with a power/turbohead attachment that's better for thick carpets. One big revelation is that it's hard to find one vacuum that covers all your bases. Might need 2 or 3 even to ensure you're good for cleaning in every environment.

I recommend an electric power head where possible. It needs some oomph to beat the carpet fibers and have the vacuum suck it all up.

As an owner of the CX1 model for over a year now, with the upgraded power head that was like around $300.

Hands down, the best vacuum I've ever owned. Way better then dyson, feels old school when using it, but man... pulls up so much micro dust

Don't get me wrong, Dysons are great... but not comparable to a Miele.

How do you find the bagless? Notice any leaks? Thanks for your input. If I can find a good deal on a dyson might but nice to have a lightweight wireless option as well. Still have an old hoover upright corded for thick carpets just in case the C3 without electric power head really does poorly.
