Comments:
1. This laptop is thin and light.
2. Build quality and material used are top notch.
3. Display is very good: 13.5" 3:2 QHD (2256 x 1504) IPS, anti-reflective, anti-smudge, touchscreen with Dolby Vision™, 450 nits
4. Yoga form could be useful given its light weight and 3:2 display.
5. 8GB soldered RAM is deal-breaker for many.

Laptop has a low-power CPU (12W) according to NotebookCheck. This means that it will be slower than other laptops that are possibly thicker than this one. If you like 8GB RAM, I think a while ago Lenovo's site had the X1 Nano for about the same price, which doesn't have this limitation to the same extent. This laptop also appears to take a shorter than usual SSD.

They tested an Intel Core i7-1160G7 model, the 12W is sustained TDP
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Th ... 069.0.html

laptopmedia.com also tested this CPU (i7-1160G7)
https://laptopmedia.com/ca/review/lenov ... oga-gen-1/

0:02 – 0:10 sec, 2.20 GHz (B+5%) @ 62°C @ 19W
0:15 – 0:30 sec, 2.20 GHz (B+5%) @ 69°C @ 19W
10:00 – 15:00 min, 1.61 GHz @ 67°C @ 12W

"Obviously, Lenovo has chosen a meek power limit. Compared to the ThinkPad X1 Nano, where the 9W CPU was acting more like a 15-28W one, the ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga Gen 1 makes use of the low TDP. Although the temperatures and the frequency are both pretty low, the fan can be clearly heard."

TDP is manufacturer configurable

8GB RAM for a Macbook may be acceptable because software is designed specifically for hardware, but on a Windows laptop is not ideal at all

8GB soldered memory, not upgradable

Too bad. There's always a catch.
Deal with it.

Not sure why anyone would pay over $1200 for a quad-core and 8GB laptop in 2021

This is Lenovo’s new flagship business convertible and also the thinnest ThinkPad. The entire profile of this laptop measures only 11.5mm. Also uses expensive materials, Titanium.

More than a business laptop?

Using titanium in an unimaginably thin chassis, the ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga is one of the most exciting laptops to come out of CES 2021.

lol or the luggage business model.

This says a lot about how Lenovo sees its potential customers.

When are the Lenovo laptops cheaper to buy? When a new model comes out, at Black Fridays, etc??

I’m refreshing the yoga 6 page daily, eying the 5700U + 1TB + 16Gb ram that was about 1k$ few weeks ago both on the site and on ebay. It moved +300, then -100 since (currently settling at 1232.99+tx now)

I’m pretty confident they will lower again, I did that with my legion and sniped an awesome deal.

They should do a 16gb/512gb and price it a notch down current levels, I’d jump on it. Looks like an awesome laptop, aside from the fabric cover that is dumb and begs to look used asap.
