Generic PS Move Controller $17.45 USD Shipped (Brand New)

Deal Link:
Price:
17.45
Just ordered 2 PS Move controllers to go with my PSVR pre-order. Price is $16.56 + $0.89 USD a piece. Worked out to about $23 each after PayPal conversion. You end up saving nearly $70 on the pair if you were to buy them from say Amazon.ca

Now on the search for a good deal on the PS4 Camera.

P.S. Item is located in Hong Kong, so expect a 4+ week delivery. Not a big deal if you want them for October. Ordering now will give you plenty of time to receive them prior to launch.

Pretty sure these are gonna go fast. There's a few other sellers but this is the lowest price I saw.

It says that they're not original, so they're most likely poor quality counterfeits that will break down in a month.

I wonder how someone would create counterfeit Move controllers. Seems like it would be hard to replicate (with all the motion tracking)...

Ill wait and see though. Anyone know what PS4 games use Move controllers so I can test when they arrive?

These have been on eBay for a while now and I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. Because Hong Kong

Guess I'll be the guinea pig. Most peripherals like this are manufactured in Hong Kong anyways, so that part doesn't worry me. Thanks for the warning though.

At least they're honest and say it's not original. I'll stick with the genuine Sony stuff.

They're not counterfeit, they're just not original. My biggest problem with them is that they use the old charging cable, mini-USB not micro-USB like all the other PS4 stuff. They might work as good as real Sony stuff, but you will still need to have two different chargers... waiting for micro-USB here.

I never made a post on it because I figured nobody cared about the move anymore, but on numerous occasions shoppers drug mart has had these on clearance for 5.99 for the controllers and like 10 for the camera. I think they are both price frozen at 15.99 for both right now and have been for a few months.

Just an fyi, might be worth a look.

When was the last time you saw them for that price?

It's not really that old of a charging cable type. It's what the PS3 used for most of their peripherals (i.e. Six-axis controller and PSP also used it as well) iirc. I don't believe any current Move controllers have micro-USB because it was made for PS3. It would have to be a newer model. It's very simple however to just buy a mini-USB to micro-USB adapter for a few cents on eBay and then just keep it next to your PS4 or wherever you need it.

They have charging pins as well so if you can find a 1st party charging dock you don't have to worry about cables. I have one and it's great.

I'm surprised that Sony didn't come up with a more elegant (less bulky) solution to go with their new VR system.
Once the initial Move hype had died down, these could be found new in clearance bins for as low as $5.
I have 4 of them, which I guess I'll hang onto in case VR actually takes off.
For now, they work really well with the $10 PS Move Racing Wheel/Handlebars for bike & ATV racing games.

I have for the PS3...the PS Eye (PS3 Camera), PS Move Controller and PS Navigation Controller that came with the Resistance 3 Game's Bundle Box (including the game and the Sharpshooter Rifle)...then bought a second Navigation Controller on clearance from The Source a couple of years ago (for like $10 or less)....but could not find any deals for a Second PS Move Controller (even though some people say that it went on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart a few times...but I never saw or missed those in-store clearances).

Been looking for a second original PS Move Controller (brand new) on clearance for a while now (Because a few games like "The Fight: Lights Out" needs TWO PS Move controllers to play...one in each hand), but I just cannot find it at the $15 or $10 mark.

If there was a sale I would have known about it...and also most of the clearance prices people mentioned at SDM for example were in-store / store specific clearance items which means that you have a high chance of not getting that deal at your local SDM in most cases...as was the case here.

Walmart certainly didn't have them for $10 or $15 in clearance bins before.

So where else are these "Bargain Bin" Prices?

I'm talking about 3-4 years ago, when the hype had died down.
London Drugs, Best Buy, Future Shop, RCSS, Staples, etc had bargain bins at various locations, some of which may have been store specific.
I bought mine from the markdown bins at London Drugs and Staples.
Highly doubtful these deals would still be found, as they would either be long gone or retailers are now aware of the resurgence with VR on the way.

China/HK can "replicate" anything. It may be made even more cheaply (these things are made in China to begin with but at least there is some QC involved in the real factories), but they can definitely replicate it. Basically all they need is an original one and surely the service manuals and service info are out there as well, showing all the diagrams and parts involved.

All that's in these things are various sensors and accelerometers--these are using widely available ICs no doubt. Sometimes Sony uses custom ICs but these can be either replicated or just stolen/bought on the black market anyway (again the real ones are being made there too). Sometimes the custom Sony CXD chips are not even custom they're just someone else's chip and Sony has them labelled with their part number instead of what they actually are.

In any event the people in China/HK making these things have it all figured out. The only thing is the quality and reliability factor. They're cheaper but personally I'd say just find lightly used official ones instead.

Pretty much my thoughts on them too.

Well I'm happy I get to use my old Move controllers. For the time they easily beat out the competing wiimote / wired nunchuck combination. I'm sure there will be more advanced motion controllers for the PSVR, but these seem more than adequate to start.

Yea, that's why I'm thinking these generic Move controllers might be okay in the meantime and for a lower price. I'm sure we will see a revision in the Move controllers later down the line, but if these eBay one's can suffice, then I'm okay with buying an off-brand for now.

Nice. There's a SDM nearby. Maybe I'll have a look sometimes during the week. Can't hurt picking up another pair if the price is right.

are there any shooters for ps3 that I can use with the move controllers? Seems like the options for FPS ps3 is kind of limited
