ebay refund issued, seller now wants my paypal email?!?

I am a noob with ebay stuff, but to make a long story short, I was issued a refund by ebay (item not received on time), it was an international item, now the seller is contacting me asking me for my paypal email address so he can send paypal an invoice for items he states I received?!?!

do I just ignore him?

thanks for any help

yes ignore him if u didn't get the item and ebay refunded u then u don't owe him anything just ignore him. if he hassles u report him to ebay. plus providing personal contact email or phone number via ebay contact system is breaking ebays rules so never do it.

You didn't get the item "on time" or you didn't get the item at all?

If you received the item after being issued a refund, the seller wants your paypal email address to invoice you so you can re-pay for your purchase. PayPal will claw back any refunds that have proof of delivery.

If you didn't receive your item at all and it's considered lost (and there's no tracking to prove delivery) there's no need to send anything.

I don't think I'd proactively give him my paypal email.

On the flip side the international mail system is super slow right now. I think stockpiles are building up because of the impact of the virus. It's taking months to get packages that have to cross international borders. I've been cutting slack because shipping estimates are computertized and based on regular circumstances. The seller who sold to you probably got the shaft. He (or she) probably mailed you the item, it's stuck in some depot somewhere, you got ebay to give you a refund, which they charged to his account, so now he's out the item and shipping cost.

If you were a good soul, you could reach out to them when it arrives and offer to pay for it. You could even respond with that. If it ever shows up I'll let you know and I'll send you funds for it kind of thing. I'm fairly certain ebay hasn't updated their estimates for global shipping to account for the coronavirus delays.
