ebay Scammers, cell phones

I have noticed a number of apparent scams with sellers offering high end cell phones with buy it now prices at a fraction of the actual value. It seems that they have somehow hacked into an existing account that has been inactive for some time and start selling multiple items at unbelievable discounts.

For some reason, all the user names seem to have a number at the end of the name, I don't know if it is a part of the hacking procedure, and often they use non - existent names for the locations of towns or cities in which they supposedly live.

There must be a large number of people who fall for this, and it falls on ebay to compensate the buyers. I am surprised that ebay wouldn't be more diligent in weeding out the scammers before people buy these items.

I am including a link for an iPhone X, 256GB that is being offered for $400 as an example, but the link probably won't last long. ... Swat5bYCsh
