[eBay.com] Carfax history report for $8.55-9$

So, I liked one second-hand car from a private seller and wanted to get a carfax report before buying it. On the carfax website, the report costs $40 if you just want the history of the car.

I searched on eBay and found out a seller who sells carfax reports for 6.99USD. You just need to buy and send a message to the seller with your order id, email id, and VIN number and he sends your report within 10-15mins to your email address.
He was prompt and very professional.

In case you are getting an error that the user does not deliver to Canada, use a Delaware address for no tax and bypass that error.

Note:: Please let me know if this is not allowed but rfd is about saving and I think it's a big saving for people who is looking to get a report on second hand car.

Sounds like it's someone using a dealer account to make a few extra bucks, lol.

That was my thought. But who cares as long as we can save some bucks.

Agreed, but I thought it was worth mentioning as some people prefer to avoid dealing with non-legit operations.

I used it and the report was forwarded within 5min.
There may be cheaper ones on ebay.

This is a sketchy way for sure. I have used a similar method in the past called gooffood for $6USD. It worked and I did get the report but it was most certainly not the proper process.

There is no sign who the source of the report is

Agreed with that. The legit way is to pay $40 at carfax and get a single report if you are sure about the vehicle you wanna buy. But, when you are in the market to buy a second-hand car, you may like 4-5 cars. That's like 100$ for their 3 reports (combo offer) plus extra for more reports and you are not even sure, you wanna buy those cars. In these scenarios, this helps.

The US Carfax is much different than the Canadian ones. They don't have access to insurance claim details, it'll only tell you if there was a claim on it.

I bought a Canadian and US one and they're very different. Get the Canadian Carfax if you can.

I got two reports and one car which I had doubt about, had all the insurance claim amount and incident report.

I purchased from vinautocheck.com & CarFax. Vinautocheck and the report contains no data. CarFax was much better, so I have to assume there is a big disconnect between US & Canada.

I remember there was a different company that offered free reports, anyone knows what is it called?

If you do, how does it compare to Carfax?
Last time I used it, it seemed to have all the information

There used to be a RFD thread where someone was offering carfax for a etransfer. Not sure if that still exists

It exists. I was able to get carfax reports for 5 CAD in April 2021. Look into BST forum.
