There are probably better deals to be had shucking, but I'll pay the extra to avoid that hassle.

This seem like a decent price for these drives. How are the compared to WD Reds (8TB)?

This model of seagate maybe good but the problem is that seagate has produced a lot of garbage drives over the years. Personally, i'd stick with Western Digital but I'm sure that anyone responding will give you their anecdotal 'my seagate never died' story.

Any NAS expert here know if it's a good idea to u include this in my Synology 4bay drives when 2 of them have 5400 RPM drives given these two will be 7200 rpm?

Damn OOS! One of my NAS drives failed its SMART test overnight and this would've been perfect!

Over the last 9 years, I've had 20 Seagates, 2 WDs, 4 Hitachis, 3 Toshibas.

I've only had 1 WD and 1 Hitachi fail on me. People swears by Seagate. People swears by WD. There's always gonna be bad batches. I just go by whatever is the best value at the time and treats hard drives like it could fail at any given moment.

Back up your data and store it on multiple devices.

And WD produced garbage SMR NAS drives. Where to run?

Nope, and you won't see any, anytime soon...
HD sales are like Albino Unicorns right now (exceedingly rare) due to goddamn Chia Miners....

NAS users should start a war... bet we could take those gdamn ChiaPets...
