Save $50.00 on Ecobee 4 @ Rona, Amazon Canada and Bestbuy.
Great deal as the Ecobee 4 is only $40.00 more than the Ecobee 3 Lite, but includes;
  • A single Room Sensor (normally sold in 2 pack for $89)
  • Voice control via Alexa

I *think* ebates also applies..

I'm so tempted to replace our stupid Nest with Ecobee. But my wife will probably kill me. A thermostat change is easily noticeable. Confused Face

I did it, the Ecobee is OK, but still better than the nest. The recovery function is really the only thing I care about in a thermostat.

I went to Canadian Tire on Thursday to PM this price plus get their $30 promo card. The location I went to had phantom stock so I prepaid and they were going to order it in for me to pickup later. I got a call the next day telling me the item was discontinued and they weren't getting anymore stock. I think Ecobee is going to release a new version soon so I'm going to hold off until then. If you don't want the built in Alexa and don't need the accessory control for a humidifier then the Ecobee3 Lite with 2 sensors for $200 in-store at Costco is the way to go.

The ecobee 3 lite with 2 sensors is regular price 199 at Costco... I realize the 4 has the Alexa function (which I read not great reviews about), but wouldn't the 3 lite be a better deal?

I've been thinking about this myself, only reason I haven't is that I also have a bunch of protects.

Don’t think is discontinued yet. Canadian Tire just didn’t want to sell you at price matched price.

I'm curious what you like better about the ecobee? I've been using Nest since launch, so I'm wondering what I'm missing... I also have the nest cameras and protects, and heavily invested in the google ecosystem, so I probably won't be switching anytime soon, but would welcome your opinion...

If you have whole house humidifier. The lite won’t support it.
Will need to get the 4.

Hmm.. Just bought a new house, no humidifier but has the HVR system set up.. Would the 3 lite work with that? Or even the 4?

You need a non-lite Ecobee in order to run hook it up with HRV.

got the ecobee 3 lite from that GreenOn thing. If I were to upgrade, do I need to replace the harness - power extender kit or whatever it's called?
