Eddie bauer has some of the superior jackets on clearance due to end of season. Limited sizing/color, may be able to find more in store. Yes, 50% clearance at EB is pretty standard, it is not all time low pricing but pretty good if you want to secure a jacket for next winter. Usually floats around the $200-$250 mark during the season. You have 1 year to return the jacket so if a better deal you have options to return and re-buy or try a price adjustment.

Love the parka and personally, I think it looks better than the mcmurdo North Face jackets. Kept me toasty all winter in frigid Montreal temps and went snowshoeing a couple times in Northern Ontario with no chills. I got it for $152 in July last year but that seemed like a one off sale

The bomber has 650 fill power vs 550 in the gotham. The down/feather ratio in the bomber is 80/20, not sure what is the figure in the gotham tho.
I will pick this over the gotham because of the return policy (1 whole year) and no qst for quebec.

Anybody knows whether the sales tag needs to be attached/unremoved from the jacket to be eligible for full refund?

Thanks OP. I was comparing the Superior Bomber and the Superior 2.0 Jacket and put an order for the Bomber because it has the elastic around the the sleeves and waist, and a few extra pockets.

Anyone know if those low profile down vests like the microtherm are effective to be worn as a mid layer? Read a random post before that down is best when it has 'space' to flow freely vs being compressed.

I was able to return a worn jacket that had a few days left of the 1yr return period. The wording in the guarantee has no mention of unworn condition w/ tags, wouldn't really make sense either, how can you be unsatisfied with a jacket you weren't able to wear out?

You’re right, it has higher filling power but I wonder how much weight of down is used for each. Anyway, I tried Gotham 3 and didn’t like the fit since M was too bulky while S was okay for me but so tight around my waist.

Didn’t get the qst part?

These are great and very warm. Good durability too. I recommend taking off the faux fur, it really cheapens the look imo.
