List Prices look exaggerated, Tshirts and shorts for $50-$55? and then reduced to $40-$45 and then a 60% discount, still not a very good deal

EB is the Canadian Tire of jackets with their pricing. Their quality is good though and they have lifetime warranty. It really is great because I've tested it. Exchanged a 2 year old jacket for a brand new one at no cost. The cuff kept getting caught in the velcro and started pilling. More of a user error I'd say.

Edit: looks like they no longer offer lifetime warranty. I definately had that when I purchased mine about 4-5 years ago.

When did you exchange your jacket?

Eddie's Product Guarantee
We design all our products to last, and we test and manufacture to the highest quality standards. If your Eddie Bauer product has a defect in materials or workmanship, you may return it with proof of purchase, within one year, for a replacement or refund back to the original form of payment.

All products that are deemed defective without proof of purchase, as well as defective products purchased more than one year earlier, are only eligible for exchange or replacement with a similar item.

Eddie Bauer’s Product Guarantee excludes normal wear and tear, and damage caused by misuse or accidents.

It's officially a one year warranty now but maybe YMMV?

Oh wow. I didn't know they changed it. It's been 3+ years since I exchanged mine. They definately used to advertise lifetime warranty when I purchased it.

Regular prices are a joke lol. So doesn't matter if it is 60% or 70%.

Appreciate it OP but so overpriced. The "huge" discount becomes severely marginalized.

Most of the women's down jackets are sold out or only left with XS. I will wait for another year.

Omg. I love EB products. They are as practical as they are stylish. Their products are premium quality and premium priced accordingly with a fully backed lifetime guarantee.

However...

Times have changed and I'm sad to say how the giants have fallen. They are no longer the same EB that I once knew and loved. Their stuff is now grossly overpriced (even more so in the midst of rampant inflation), and they've really cut back on their product guarantee and quality. I have an auto open and close umbrella from EB and I love that thing. It's a bit hefty, but it's solidly built and is very handy in getting in and out of a vehicle. I'm on my 4th umbrella already after owning it for quite a few years now. All I had to do was to bring the defective product back to their store and they would exchange for a new one no questions asked.

Perhaps if your jacket or product is older and is now defective, you may still be able to take it to the store for exchange? The "wear and tear" is open to interpretation since it could be the product was shoddily made and is now coming apart after more than a year's use whereas a similar product lasted for years before it was coming apart. That's my experience with EB products, and what I think would be considered "fair" under the circumstance. I'm sure those who are willing to take up EB on their "lifetime guarantee" are far and few between, but maybe with more abuses of the policy that they decided to add more limitations to the guarantee?

If you can find an EB outlet, you should stock up as the prices are generally more "fair" there than retail. Doesn't help that EB stores are generally located in high rent locations. So they can only keep the prices to a certain point without losing their shirt (figuratively speaking).

I generally find it very dead in their stores. I don't find many customers either with a big sale event. Maybe because they tend to have an image of catering to the older generation and aren't as hip as Lululemon?
Why settle for full retail price when you can wait and get it at a lower price for better value (even better if there's a bundled freebies deal)? 😉

Yes, a lot of the fairer priced items are OOS. They're beginning to sound like Staples. Face With Tears Of Joy

Wallet safe.
