You mean you don't like 10$ beers and garbage food served to you by hipsters and jaded college girls?

Cheap ok food and overpriced drinks esp if you know good happy hour or other days of specials in Vancouver. I have not been to one in Vancouver but Toronto I have been.

It’s not a horrible place but it is very hipster and they play music really loud and think pabts blue ribbon is like cool. I can drink junk american beer but pbr is uniquely horrible

The amount of nasty stories I've heard about the things one of the company founders does to female employees has deterred me from ever going to a warehouse location ever again

I haven’t been in a long time, but it’s good for the price. I consider it better than McDonald’s.

At the Hastings location, I once saw a $20 on the dance floor amongst a group of drunken people, as I was on my way to the washroom. They didn’t even notice me pick it up.

When I was in whistler in the summer, the location up there was really busy. But whistler in the summer is not a good barometer.

That would be called their business model. And necessary to make some profit and stay afloat.

The appeal is that you don’t have to worry about making 3 - 5 pm happy hour somewhere else and limited to veggie pizza on offer.

I don’t go here anymore… but it’s perfect for the younger crowd on a budget.

Ughhj it’s called bringing up a thread that’s a month old to start off sounding like a jerk.

The appeal is young people drink more booze than eat food and ummmm they are not happy if you don’t drink. I saw them deny entry to someone at bloor spadina saying quote “you never drink here you can’t just come forthe food” said that in a typical way that hipster voice accented with a tongue ring lip ring filtered through a tacky neck tattoo. Of course that is against Ontario Liqour rules to force someone to drink. To top it off I’m sure that hipster refreshed himself with a gourmet pabts blue ribbon.

That’s what you get with this dump.

Also in Vancouver happy hour is much wider and many varieties of food. I lived in both places and Toronto barely had happy hour esp for alcohol. Joey and cactus club have happy hour in bc. Anywhere in Toronto a major chain offers half priced wine bottles on Tuesday and Wednesday (cactus) or Wednesday (Joey). I use those two as an example but many other bars and restos offer deals.

May I suggest you dig up a thread from a year ago then 10 yeArs ago and respond with your 11 ingredient sarcastic reply?

Edit I see your in Vancouver, so you know happy hour. In that area you got la casita Mexican with daily dinner specials ($6 burrito Monday + $3 mini margarita and it’s proper Mexican). GPO bar has all day happy hour Monday (and 3-6) after with $5 food. The cambie is generally cheap but also 3-6.

Triggered some?
Thread was re-activated by a previous comment, so it popped up. Sorry I didn’t take the time to note dates, as my comment is no longer timely since the restaurant’s model has since changed… oh wait, it hasn’t. Still relevant.

This place has its appeal to the right customer base, and a free burger for front line workers. Thus the RFD post… which seems to be lost on lots of people.
They can enjoy it, and you can enjoy your happy hour.

When did this become $7.95 for food. I liked Warehouse because the burgers were pretty good at the right size and the right price (~$6). I hate most restaurant burgers where they're $16 and too large to finish without feeling like shit. I rarely if ever bought booze there but they had a decent selection of the larger craft stuff and the macros.

Cactus Club / Joeys / Earls have great happy hours, but I'm not stepping foot in one of those for lunch or dinner.

Ok I’m sorry wrong about you kicking up thread my apologies. I accept your opinion and perhaps I was a little salty

Still I dislike this chain not sure what those comments about harassment is like but I’d believe it.

Waving white flag

I too try to avoid Joey cactus although. Some items on their menu are decent. Original post was to relate to Ontario of which Joey or cactus has some weak daily special however in Vancouver they drop their pants.

I have ended up at Joey and cactus mostly for work when traveling the prairies. It has something for everyone and usually at the corner of some mall. I prefer a good hole in the wall. The design of some cactus is good example the one in downtown Toronto
77 Adelaide.

And somehow cactus has a beachfront location that is right on English bay beach which has Vancouver best sunset in downtown proper.

However at half price wine if you are only drinking and they offer corking to take with your in BC I think Ontario your allowed) honestly it’s comparable to a slight mark up with the nearby private Liqour store with better seating and views / fans to help with heat

I steady by el furniture. Sucks

I really like Furniture Warehouse. Really good burgers. No clue why the hate, especially when free.
