Electrical for washlets for toilets

If you were to build a custom home and you needed a washlet outlet the inspector needs a dedicated outlet with special wiring if you provide heating to the washlet. Is that really necessary? If you say you’re just putting an outlet there would that be ok?

I'm not sure about the rule for that, but I know ours are downstream from the GFI near the sink. We don't have separate dedicated outlets for the washlets.

Needs to be a GFI outlet.

If you're building a custom home, I don't think saving a few dollars on an outlet for the washlet makes sense.

We remodelled our ensuite in early 2021. The electrician mentioned that the heater in the bidet can draw alot of amperage and recommended its own circuit. According to Google, they can draw up to 13 amps. Good luck running a hairdryer on the same circuit. They had to pull a new line for the heated flooring anyways so it was a no brainer. Got them to attach cat6 to the pull and so i now have ethernet in the adjacent bedroom as well.
