Email money transfer coming to PCF on July 11th

Probably worth its own thread, given the number of people here who are PCF members and advocates, and the oft repeated issue of not being able to use Interac email money transfers with that bank...

I spoke to a rep today, Jeff, who said that this service would be rolled out to PCF members on July 11th, and that the fee would likely be $1.50 per transfer.

True, but it is not completely unusual to roll out IT-heavy changes, which this one would be, during the weekend so they cause the least disruption to normal business, and can be rolled back without major issues if they go awry.

We do nearly all our major roll-outs and maintenance on the weekend for exactly this reason.

Just talked with Jessica from PCF and I asked her about EMT. She told me that they were currently training CSR and that the service should go live somewhere in July.

Now if we could get Interac Online on the PC Financial bandwagon......

But nonetheless, I'm looking forward for EMTs! I wonder how much will cost to receive EMTs....

Yeah, one of the reasons why I signed up with BMO is because of it. I wish all Banks would give 1 free / month.

BMO refuses to give me a single cheque for free since they want to make me pay for a whole order of cheques. Plus, I got a really old BMO account that I want to keep active. I wish PCF would accept bank statements the way HSBC do but they don't when linking accounts.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank for your suggestion to add the Email Money Transfers service to online banking.

We appreciate your comments with respect to how online banking can be improved. Communications such as yours help determine areas that require our attention. Your interest in this feature has been noted for review and consideration.

President's Choice Financial does not offer the ability to send Email Money Transfers. However, our customers can receive Email Money Transfers. They can deposit transfers using the INTERAC website. This is called an INTERAC transfer, and usually takes three to five business days. INTERAC charges a transfer fee, which is deducted from the transfer amount.

At this time, we cannot speculate when the Email Money Transfer feature will be available online, as President's Choice Financial has not made any announcement for such online banking enhancement. Please visit online banking for future updates.

Thank you for visiting www.pcfinancial.ca.

Sincerely,

Tweety

I wonder when will PC Financial will "publicly" announce that there are offering Interac E-Mail Money Transfers. I've been with PC financial for a number of years (6 to be precise) and I don't seem to have an issue with them.

What is the difference between Interac EMT/Interac Online and PayPal?

Is transfering via the link instantaneous? Or at least same day? I use EMT because it's same day.

No it is not same day. It's more like 1 banking day. It's an EFT not an EMT.
