Enercare Maintenance Plan Renewal

Just got the renewal for there protection plans

Cooling Maintenance $10.99
Heating Maintenance $10.99
3 in 1 protection plan : cooling, heating , plumbing: $37.99

Alternatives to Enercare--only Reliance and their pricing is similar.

Were you able to negotiate a lower price at renewal with Enercare

Are these plans mandatory? i never had such plan before, do a lot of people sign up for them?

Not mandatory - provides maintenance annually and protection for key components.

It's insurance for the ill informed sold door to door; should tell you enough about it. They couldn't grow profits from renting water heaters so they got into the 'insurance' game.

They have been investigated by the government.

Marketplace has looked into them.

They are generally a scummy company to be avoided.

I have had them for 7 years and have had good service and a large repair of $1,700. I did not buy door to door

Trusted Pros.ca enercare has a trust score of 0.7 or a customer score of 1.5 out of 5 with 163 rating.

and that was with about 1 minute of research. There are other threads in RFD about this scumbag company, news articles...
