We are renovating 1960s house in gta and want to take down 2 walls btwn kitchen and living room to make it all open plan. We have quote,just wondering is it reasonable as we have no clue? Just over 2k.

Reasonable.

Generally speaking for a wall or two in the same area, probably looking at $1750-2500 for a stamped set of drawings depending on where you are and the size of the practice.

For a full house drawing set for a major reno (addition), its maybe $5k.

We paid $2k for drawings to take down 1 wall.

But truth be told, we got a comprehensive set of drawings of the entire house, with exterior elevations too.

"I'm a bit upset. I've been grab by the back without any alert and lubrification"

New build garage and they charged us $1400, but didnt need to re-draw the house.

You talking about structural engineering drawings. Usually our rates are $130~250/h.

You only need engineered drawings for structural changes.

Thanks for the clarification.... also noted that Hamilton requires a buidling permit fot basement waterproofing ..

material changes too. i changed out my clay sewer for a PVC one. Even thought it was a direct replacement and nothing changes, a permit was needed because the material was different.
