Enterprise Rent a car

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this but Enterprise rent a car has put a 2 day minimum rental at some of their GTA locations especially in North York and Thornhill. If you try doing a 1 day rental it will say no cars available. If you do a 2 day rental including the same day that there were no cars available you're suddenly able to rent a car.

Prices are pretty high these days too. $110+ per day for a full size .

This is no surprise. When the Covid restrictions were imposed and things like business or recreational travel took a hit, many rental agencies cleared out their stock of cars. Right now there's limited inventory, so prices are up and the agencies want to maximise their revenues. Long term rentals are better than hoping you'll get a bunch of short terms.

Car rental agencies sold a lot of their vehicles during the pandemic to generate cash flow since they were just sitting there because of a lack of tourists, travel, etc. So there's now lower supply and increasing demand, therefore higher prices and two day minimums until the rental agencies can replenish their inventory.

You may have heard of new vehicle manufacturing being delayed because of a lack of microchips. That means high rental prices will be around for a while...
