I've played both multiple times. I highly recommend for people that like that style of game.

I wouldn't get them for the sole reason of having to go through their horrible captcha...

Which one did you enjoy more? I liked PoE, but heard some mixed signals regarding Tyranny

I just went through this, I had to find a black and white penguin in what looked like a sea of Oreos, lol. Brought me back to my where's Waldo days.

There's actually a few games I've gotten from this list that I am really looking forward to playing - just no time yet. I really appreciate not having to pay for them though.

If I had to choose between the two it would be Pillars of Eternity. Tyranny is really close though. I would ignore the reviews about Tyranny and play it. I don't think you would be disappointed.

PoE is a pretty generic DnD experience, just polished and well done, although there is too much jargon thrown at you. Tyranny is much more streamlined. It has a pop-up wiki that really makes the cRPG experience pleasant and actually feeling modern from the days of BG1 and Planescape. Tyranny's story, on the other hand, is an entirely unique experience. There really isn't a published game like it that also goes into the depth that it does.

PoE is a solid game. Tyranny, as you say, is unique... in a really great way. I loved it!
