Agree completely. Given the time and money I'd be right there with the separate grinder and buying freshly roasted beans every day.AirTimid wrote: ↑ True, it also depends on how fussy you are. The fact you can't dial in a bean, especially with a super automatic, you get decent espresso/coffee in my opinion. Taste is subjective. The all in one machine is great for some people, but so are the 10k grinder/espresso machine for others. I'm still searching for my perfect cup/shot.

Anyone have a suggestion for a small grind & brew? Looking for one for the GF as a Christmas gift, but have only been able to find cheap Amazon trash. I've only been looking at standard drip coffee makers so far, but was thinking that an espresso machine might fit the requirements.
She has limited counterspace and only drinks a cup or two at a time, so the massive 10-12 cup models are overkill. She's basically looking for something that'll do a large cup or two, so 10-20-ish oz. Cuisinart has a small model, but the grinder is completely separate from the coffee maker, so you have to take the coffee grounds out of the grinder and physically move them to a completely different part of the machine (uh, how is that any more convenient than owning a standalone grinder and coffee machine...?)
This is what she has now. It's perfect, other than the fact that it's garbage and keeps breaking -- she's gone through 2 of them in the past year and a half...

Any good espresso grinders to keep an eye out that will be around the $600-700 range? I'd like something with a smaller footprint than the Sette 270.
Going to be picking up a DF83 grinder myself
From what I can tell, it's either idrinkcoffee.com, coffeeaddicts.ca, or cafefabrique.com for Canadian DF grinder suppliers.
idrinkcoffee has it for $895 -5% (new email signup coupon) if it doesn't go on further sale anywhere.
I messaged coffeeaddicts.ca on instagram and they said they would be doing a black friday sale on black friday.

Juro, GE or Phillips are the obvious choices if you want good coffee at a reasonable price.
I picked up the GE one a few months ago for $300 USD. While not the world's best machine, it is definitelt better than the pod based machines I have owned.

No issue
My second saeco machine (sold the last one I had because I wanted more feature)
Maintenance on saeco machine are a breeze
I always d’escale 2 -1 times a year, use filtered water never had issue
Make between 2-6 shot per day
I’m moving away because I want better coffee, better control
And while the super automatic feature is good and fast i want to experiment more, and don’t have the counter space for the 2 machine + grinder
What are you thinking of getting?john_geush wrote: ↑ No issue

Df64 gen 2 grinder
For espresso machine I’m still torn
Either a profitec go or I go dual boiler with Lelit Elizabeth or rancillio Silvia pro x
There is a substantial price going from profitec go to the other machine for only simpler steaming
Since I already have a milk caffe from breville for frothing milk I will most certainly go with profitec go

Bought Saeco Xelsis for $1500 on Amazon and it is freaking amazing so far. Milk froth is amazing on this machine.

Really hoping Friday brings some DF64/DF83 deals.
Meanwhile, theres a few accessories on sale worth nothing.
Normcore stuff is on sale on their website and amazon (cheaper on amazon) https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=Normcore
Cant recommend the V4 tamp enough, generally everyone loves it and its not too expensive https://www.amazon.ca/Normcore-V4-Coffe ... B09C5PWJXL
Other stuff of theirs I have and enjoy is 2x bottomless portafilters, puck screens, handleless milk pitchers w/ round spouts in both sizes, and their dosing cup. I'd probably have their wed too if i didnt 3d print an Umikot planetary gear WDT.
mhw-3bomber on aliexpress will be on sale tomorrow too https://mhw-3bomberofficial.aliexpress. ... oNttoNtt9c
Decent lineup of accesories. The DEX basket is their best buy imo, very similar to VST white label baskets apparantly pulls a great blended clear shot.

It’s not really any bigger than a Miele etc. only slightly bigger than the cheaper Philips. This pic makes it look deeper than it is because there is 3 inches behind it because that’s where the outlet is, I don’t have a 90 degree adapter etc.

Thanks! Appreciate it. Yeah I just bought the Breville Bambino Plus to start off. Didn't want to get an automatic or semi automatic. Maybe in a few years time once I outgrow a manual one.

You can really go down the rabbit hole with espresso machines, I'm a newbie to them and picked up a simple De'longhi ECP3620 Manual a few weeks back, my grinder is the cheapest thing you can buy and it still works fine and makes a great cappuccino / hot chocolate for me and my family, down the road I might pick up something different but for the price I can't complain.
The only thing worse than human ignorance is human pride in that ignorance.

Bambino is semi automatic
There are a lot of costlier semi automatic machine
Full automatic can produce good enough espresso but an ok grinder and a bambino like you have would produce better espresso
Only advantage of the full automatic is convenience
I’m selling my full automatic and going back to semi automatic
