[Esso] 4,000 PCO Points with 4 purchases of gas in June

Not sure if this is a blanket offer in the pc optimum app, but in June, if you get gas 4 times with a purchase of 40 bucks or more (which is super easy due to ridiculous gas prices) you get 4,000 pc optimum points. Essentially 1 dollar back per fill up. Stacks with pc mastercard, pc W/E mastercard as well so that sweetins the offer as well.

$4 extra worth of pc points isn't much and my tank is only 40L, so it's kinda difficult for me to get to $40 to begin with.

True enough, but with gas hovering around $1.25 average, you would only need like 32+ litres to hit it.

Not for everyone, just putting it out there.

Showed up in my app too. Kind of like a PC points carbon tax rebate.

That's essentially $1 off $40, which is a 2.5% discount. Given that PC MasterCard users also get 3%, it's a slightly warm deal.

If you don't want to wait in line for Costco gas or don't have access, this could work for you. That said, some may prefer RBC 3c / L discount at Petro because it's an instant discount, with no minimum purchase, and not points you must redeem later.

Edit: Come to think of it, they may be hoping that someone with be $2 short on their last fill-up in June, and then comes into the store to buy a candy bar or something. That stuff has a huge profit margin. And then they find out that only gas is eligible and they don't get 4000 points.

My offer was not as good. 2,000 PC Optimum points if you get gas 2 times with a purchase of $40 or more.

What's the % of return on PC points? Less than $0.01 per $1 of gas?

I had this offer in May as well and reached it. Good deal if you're getting gas from these stations anyways. Not really worth $4 to go too much out of the way though.

Yep, thanks for that.

I'm still doing the Canadian Tire gift card and 2c/L off survey trick. I might try this if this comes up when I run out of CT GCs.
