As mentioned many times on this forum, price privileges cards make sense only if they are free or almost free... If you have to buy $200 then the savings will be realized only after price privileges card is used up, this specific one requires 200 L of fuel ($20 / 10cents/l) which will cost approx 1.4x200 = $280.

Therefore total money spent $200+$280 = $480, and savings represent $20/$480 = 0.04, or 4% . This is not the worst offer but still misleading as by reading the title you may think you are saving 10%....

You don’t have to buy an additional $280 of gas to realize the savings. Your $200 gift card can be used towards gas purchases while still getting 10c/l off. This deal is good if you like to gas at esso, 1% cashback thru ebates + creditcard rewards sweetens the deal. Thanks OP

Thanks! Not as good as their offer back last december when you bought a 300$ gift card and received a 100$ privilege card. But as someone who spends 400$ a month on gaz at Esso it's still welcome :)

That depends on the car, the gas price, highway vs local etc. Really you would be the best person to gauge this as you know your driving habits best.

Too confusing for me. Can this be used to buy Public Mobile airtime at 10% off?

1. Do Esso stations sell Public Mobile vouchers? I heard CT Gas Stations do.
2. You are paying $200 for a $200 gift card. To realize the $20 / 10% savings you have to buy actual gas as the saving is 10 cents per litre. So you will save the 10% only if you buy gas. But that’s not to say you can’t pay for the gas with you credit card and use the gift card to buy PM vouchers, it’s all how you look at it.

You miss the point of my question. I was asking Maidom how many kilometers he gets on $400.00 worth of fuel not what I get.

I used to take advantage of the Privilege card a lot but then it got super annoying since I have to go inside to pay with the cashier.

You don't have to on 99% of the pumps these days + If you use the Speedpass+ App, you can pay and use the Esso Extra/Price Privilege card in one go.
