[Esso] Pay $315 for a $300 Esso gift card and a $60 price privileges fuel discount card

You're paying $15 to save $60. Works out to $45 of savings after you've burned through 600 litres of fuel at a $0.10/L discount. The discount card gets sent instantly via e-mail, and you can load it and the physical gift card onto the Esso speedpass app and pay for your fillup via cell phone - really cool.

Gift card and price discount card do not expire. While this is not flaming hot, those of us with larger SUV's and trucks will get our money's worth in short order.

lol, 4 downvotes? I guess you guys drive Teslas. I go through one of these cards every week in my Titan diesel.

Edit: 7 downvotes? You guys are just plain mean - can anyone suggest better gas savings than this? I'm all ears

Downvote for this accusing and blaming attitude. This forum doesn't need this kinda toxic mentality. No forum does.

You know this isn't something to brag about, right?

Don't be disheartened by keyboard warriors ... Downvotes don't mean anything. Please keep posting deals. Upvoted!

Toxic mentality? It was a joke about Teslas.

You know this isn't something to brag about, right?
As a contractor, I need the towing capacity of a large diesel truck. I'm always looking to save money - hence the post.

After you exhaust your $300 gift card, for sure - just load the PC mastercard as a method of payment in your app, or at the pump the old fashioned way.

It is just the math,
The $60 fuel discount card worth 60*75%(you can get 2.5c for free from some places)*80%(that is how much people are willing to pay) = 36
$300 gas card worth $285 (95%).
So the total value for this is $285 +36 = 321, you pay $315 and get $6 more value, like 2%, in exchange of you have to fill all the gas at esso.
The deal level is between cold and warm, I won't say it is not a deal, rather just I will not bite.

IMO, for this product, $300 or less make it a warm deal (I will buy), $285 or less make it a hot deal (I will stock)

For your information, I am still using the $300 esso deal ($300 GC + $100 fuel discount cards) in 2017
PM $13/30 days, 250MB with unlimited incoming
Carrytel cable internet, 75m unltd, $39/30d
Zoomer $36/mo, 5gb plan

Why would you assume people would downvote you based on what car they drive? What kind of people think this of other people?

I appreciate the explanation - I'm still learning what's hot and what's not - but how are you getting a valuation of $285 for a $300 card? If this is out there, I'll buy like a madman. I'm not familier with the $300 esso deal of 2017 - sounds amazing though.
Thank you.

I didn't assume - I've seen you driving your Tesla:

Cool. Save money without being a caustic poster. We have enough of them here.

($45/600 liters = 7.5c savings)

Costco 81.9
Mobil 87.9 (-7c PCMC) = 80.9
Cheapest Esso within 5km 87.9 - 7.5 = 80.4

It's barely breaking even compared to just going to Mobil or Costco. Math is severely unfavorable once you need Plus or Premium.

Costco 99.9
Mobil 104.9 (-7c PCMC) = 97.9
Cheapest Esso within 5km 109.9 - 7.5 = 102.4

I don't know what's there to be excited about this offer. I just fill up at Costco or Mobil when I go to groceries.

This deal sucks because you're essentially giving Esso a 300 dollar loan, with the ABSOLUTE chance that you will lose your gas card, and that loan turns into a gift.
If you are 100% sure that you won't lose this card, and Esso is your closest gas station, and you will use all of these items within three months, then MAYBE it's a deal.
That's a lot of IFs to make this an even lukewarm deal.
