Ever Found a Cell Phone?

The last year or so I've found two cell phones, tonight at GoodLife I found my third!!

Tonight, it was a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with cash inside.

Taking the cell is just isn't me I know how expensive and important it is.

I'd be lying if I didn't think about taking the cash but a few months ago I dropped my wallet at GoodLife too, different location. Someone gave it to the staff in front and I didn't expect the money to be there but it was.

After 20 minutes he came running in, his driver's licence was also in the wallet case. He thanked me and gave me $20.

Not judging but have you found a cell phone. Did you keep it, why and what did you do with it?

Yeah, I found a current generation iPhone in the change room at Good life as well. Tucked it in my pocked and walked out. to the front desk to let them deal with it.

Found a broken S3 mini in the rain. Screen was cracked (single crack-still usable), battery came out, back cover also badly damaged...I used it for 2 years LMAO...now its my mp3 player

If people keep phones in that bad shape, its no surprise they lost it. Just my two cents

Doesn't matter what it is, the lost item probably means something to someone so I always return it.

OP, that was a very kind gesture.

Found an iphone 5 (or maybe 5s) in a coffee shop near the milk/cream/sugar and stir sticks.

This was when the 5 just came out - phone was brand new. I walked up to the coffee counter and let them know someone left it there - I really hope they didn't take it.....

I have only ever found wallets, no phones yet. I have always returned them to mall security to deal with. I don't even want to look inside to see the content. It's none of my business. I have lost my wallet once. The ID was returned but cash was taken. Even then I am grateful. Do unto others....

Found a HTC M7 on the neighbour's lawn. It was wet. I turned it on after a day. It was someone's backup phone. It had no security lock, so I messaged the people in the text app to find the owner. It took a couple of weeks to return the phone; the owner didn't seem that enthusiastic about meeting (she kept on changing the meet time/place). It turned out the phone was stolen from her.

Found a much older phone in transit, and a banged up one in the parking lot. I just returned those to the carrier's store.

The man must have been frantic once he realized his note 8 cash and ID was missing. Glad you were able to get it back to him.

Never a phone, but a couple wallets and a lone credit card. The wallets were returned untouched (reached one person via Facebook, the other via Twitter), and the CC I dropped off at the closest bank branch.

Found a phone at work once, we get a lot of people in from the public. The phone was Spanish. Thankfully we have someone who knows Spanish. Was able to call the owners daughter. He came back an hour or two later to pick it up.

edit: Finding a Note 8 though. Damn, that things worth more than half the vehicles I've purchased in my life.

Found the following:
  1. clamshell phone that was a work phone to someone at NavCan. I opened the phone, contacted one of the two only saved contacts, and returned the phone. Got a NavCan gift box containing a pen
  2. Galaxy Grand Prime 2015, I considered keeping it, but it was pin locked, and a factory reset got it Google locked. I sim swapped in order to figure out the owner's phone number, called it, got the guy's name from voicemail greeting, found the guy's landline number from white pages, and returned the phone. Got a $20
  3. Galaxy S7 (can't remember if it was an edge phone). Driveway in the neighbourhood. Left it in the mailbox, notified the guy who lives there as he was rolling into his driveway
  4. busted smartphone (shattered glass). Probably old. Sim card was micro sim, couldn't be bothered to go through the hassle to find the owner of a severely smashed phone (found it on the ground downtown near city Hall), used it as a trade-in on a Koodo deal

I wonder how fast he drove back. LOL

It was sitting on the bench. GoodLife was empty and figured he was doing rounds but it seems to be normal members placing their phones down?

you look for a contact within the phone called "HOME" you would be calling their actual home phone number in that case and not their cell phone.

Last year went snowboarding, found an iPhone in the washroom. Background picture was the owner and girlfriend. I walked around the cafeteria and found the owner within minutes.
