Extended warranty on factory stereo
Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue.
We recently had an issue with our car stereo not working properly, it would cut out and bluetooth completely stopped working. The vehicle is out of the basic warranty but it does have the top tier extended on it. We took it in to the dealership for repair only to find out that is needed a software update to function properly and warranty did not cover this. Under the terms of the warranty with the package we have, factory radios are covered, but they are saying since it was a software issue it does not deem as an electrical defect.
Has anyone else dealt with coverage on this? Imo a software issue is an electrical defect as the radio is not performing as intended, obviously they see it not. Feels like another scam area for insurance to sneek away from fixing defective components in your vehicle.
