[Factory Direct] Hisense U8G remanufactured $750 for 65" and $650 for 55"

Note: This is not the u68g that is on sale at $650 at some places.

The U8G was premium with local dimming (fullarray, minileds, etc.) in 2021. It is also native 120hz (tested). Apparently has sync for playing games with computers but didn't test.

The Canadian version is called U88G.

Reviews are generally good:

Hisense U8G TV Review

10-day exchanges
90-day store warranty

They open the box and test it with you while you are instore. Pretty happy with it so far.

I thought friends don't let friends buy at Factory Direct. However, it looks like a decent deal

While the price seems hot, not sure if I want to roll the dice and hope that the tv doesn't die on me on the 91st day, even the 90 day store warranty could be a big hassle.
Currently happy customer with Koodo and Virgin Mobile.

This was in store and online just last week at Costco for $649. Also bought 4 year protection for $60.

Some credit cards can cover certain warranty. Amex does better.

Stay away at all cost from that store, even if it is only purchasing a peanut! :)
No one wants a store credit for returning a crappy electronic device even within its short return window!

Pretty bad deal considering Costco deals which was the same price as this last week. They have an excellent return and warranty policy. If it was a better price (maybe 30-50% cheaper), it’d be worth considering but even then, I’ve been burned by FD many times (surprised they’re even still around tbh). If you don’t want to spend money on a membership, I believe you can order online without one or use Costco gift cards

EDIT: sorry I misspoke. This is a better model but even then, I’d rather take a lower model from Costco than roll the dice at FD. It just isn’t worth the risk. Costco does hassle free price adjustments if it gets cheaper (I forgot duration) or free returns if you see cheaper or something better during the return time window (kind of a dick move though imo)

Are you sure it was the U88H? It's currently $1100 for the 55" and $1700 for the 65". Most likely it was the U68H for $649.

This will almost certainly be a panel lottery loss

It's also worth noting that while it does 120hz... It doesn't actually support 4k 120hz

Maybe Costco had to u6g for this price, but not the u8g.

FD do not test or refurbish anything. They buy skids of customer returns from suppliers, make certain the boxes contain all the accessories (legs/screws/remote) and let the customer figure out if the original customer returned the product because it's a dud or if they returned it because they changed their mind.

Friends don't let friends buy anything refurbished or new >$10 at Factory Direct.

They really need to bring the down vote button for individual posts for people posting stating it was at Costco for this price when it was the lower model.

The new 2023 Hisense are coming out with mini-LED from U6, U7, to U8. It might be a good idea to wait.

That was the U68g which is a U6G. This is two lines above that. The U6G doesn’t have local dimming and only 60hz which is why it is so cheap.

I ran the test and it was 120hz. Can you pointing me to where it said that is is not 120hz at 4K?

No it wasn’t a U8G it was a U68H. This is equivalent to a U88G.

I've learned my lesson with FD. I will never shop there ever again. Bait and switch!!! They sell you a TV that seems amazing, but when you get it home, something is wrong with it. Then they say "we only exchange. No refund"
Somehow, the exact same TV is not available,
so you end up with a crappy TV you really did not want in replacement. Garbage store. AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
