Doesn't make a difference if your car is in good shape. It's just an OBD11 plug in test (for most cars), no CEL on or emissions issues = pass.
There is supposed to be a heightened on road enforcement from the MTO regarding emissions. I would assume they are after the commercial vehicles mainly but I can see them going after vehicles that are loud. Not saying that if you are loud you are in the wrong, I'm just saying that you make yourself an easy target. Of course, what they say they will do and what actually may happen are two different things. I see a lot more smoking 18 wheelers and busses nowadays then I do cars.
