Sweet deal. Sadly flight prices are incredibly high within Canada at the moment due to reduced supply I assume. Pair this with a cheap flight and it would make a great vacation while we are more or less stuck in the country.

Managed to get a lake view junior suite at lake louise 20-22nd of December of 399 a night. That's about half off from regular.

So I just priced a two night stay for Fairmont Toronto in July and it's $492 total. However, if you choose "Government Rate" for exactly the same dates and room, it comes out to $373. So this discount isn't really a deal for government employees.

Even with 2nd night free, it comes out very expensive. Never stayed at Fairmont, but I assume it's a luxury hotel... Still, a room is a room and a bed is a bed. It's not like room service or meals are included. Then it would make sense.
I'll pick best western plus, still have some points during MBNA promotions.

Couldn't have said it better. For us, a family with young kids, we prefer staying at a more "regular" hotel so we can get more value for our money (bigger room size, kitchen space). The last time we stayed as a family at Fairmont, the room walls were thin and the people staying at the adjacent room had to block out the space underneath the connecting door to not be too affected by baby cries!mcwilly wrote: ↑ While I am not too keen on travel for another month or so, this is as hot a deal as I've ever seen from Fairmont. I haven't stayed at a Fairmont in a while, but if I recall you are really paying for the grand atmosphere and romanticism. Unless they have done some major upgrades the rooms are quite small and dated.

For June, It's $329 per night when you select only one night, bonus night not included. Or $169 per night when you select two nights, bonus night IS included. The total for 2 nights comes to $428.04 with all taxes for two night. It's really not that good of a deal IMHO.
