If only this went until summer '21. I don't see COVID clearing up much by April.

What's the cancellation rate on that? I mean can someone make tentative plans depending on COVID and cancel as necessary?

at the "4. complete details" page, you can see the cancellation on the right. Seems to be fully cancellable without penalty up to 72h before your stay.

Interesting for family with grown up kids:

“Buy one night and receive a complimentary second night during the same stay. A 1 night prepaid fully-refundable deposit is required. This promotion is subject to availability and may not be combined with any other offers, promotions or packages. For stays through April 30, 2021. Blackout dates may apply.

*You may also use your complimentary night as a second room on the same night.”

How do you tell the final price? I put 2 days and it said 181 per night. Does that mean I only pay $181 or is it $360?

Should be $360. They split the room rate between both nights. For example, Chateau Lake Louise is $316/night ($600+/2 nights) in February which is a pretty decent deal for that time of year.

Buy life experiences gift card at costco to get additional 25% off up to $1K per room per stay.
Save a lot but end up spending more

Sadly this is no longer an option as Costco does not currently sell LE gift cards. Hoping that they stock these again.

Maybe still in Ontario Costco Warehouses only as per @trystee in Various Gift Cards thread:

Took a look at a few dates/prices for the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. The prices seem to be in line with what regular rates are year-round (when booking on Hotels.com & Expedia). Are there really any decent savings here or is this promo largely a gimmick?

Royal York is kind of a waste because it's not that expensive (or, honestly, good) to begin with and there's a lot of competition from other luxury hotels in Toronto. You get more of a discount if you try hotels like Banff Springs, Chateau Frontenac, Lake Louise etc.

Got the email from Chateau Lake Louise earlier but no luck on the few dates I tried (Dec. 27-29 on a lark, middle of February) so either I happened upon some of their blackout dates mentioned or they're just full up!

Would be a decent deal otherwise, though. Will keep looking...

Hopefully they add other locations. I think that's what happened last time where they added more properties a couple days into the promo. Fingers crossed something in Vancouver or Whistler pops up soon.

You can get 50% or more @ downtown Van hotels if you book through Stayvancouverhotels.com. They offer $125 prepaid visa card/ night few times a year. I paid $80 for Fairmont Vancouver in September after all the discounts (from Stayvancouverhotels + Life Experiences gift certificate).

How do you check out and get the free night tacked on? I tried checking out with 2 nights and it charged for 2 nights. If I book from Friday to Sunday should I be getting charged for 2 nights or 1 night?
