where are you located? I went to a lawyer in Whitby who charged $285 all in for myself and my wifes wills and POA.

EDIT - also let me say, this was for a very simple will. (everything left to kids and family split equally ect) If you have any sort of complications or other requests I am sure it will be more.

Often through Groupon, you can find a 50% off. It's about $39 and around half of that for your spouse. If you don't have a complicated will to make - I highly recommend using the above service.

Thanks jokaz! I did the Will Wizard and it looks like this will do the job for me. I logged into my groupon account and happened to have a 50% off promo code for Apr 2 so I got the $44 package for $22. Great deal!

They are much cheaper because they don't give legal advice.

not sure I would go with an online Will, but that's up to you being comfortable with that. I rather have a face to face meeting to hash out the details, have it stamped and signed by a real lawyer and have them keep a copy in their vault if somehow I lose my copy or it cannot be found. I wont go into detail, but although my and my wife's seemed very straight forward, he had suggestions that I did not think about or consider and it turned out to be more important then I thought. With a fill in the blanks wizard made will, you will never know these options. for $200 extra over the online one, it is well worth the money for piece of mind for my family and kids. We are all cheapskates here on RFD, but somethings shouldn't be cheaped out on... Just my opinion though.

If you have kids you need a real legal will drafted by a lawyer. If you are single with few assets then an online will is enough.
