Fashion outlet in Buffalo worth it?

Ill be heading down to the Niagara falls this weekend, and thought about hopping over to the states and visiting the Fashion Outlet. I havent been there since the drop in CAD to USD, so my question is if its still worth at the outlet with the drop in CAD? If someones been there recently, please let me know. Wife is interested in coach handbags, and i need some dress shirts and shoes.

Thanks

Fashion Outlet is not in Buffalo, It is in the township of Niagara Falls.
Calls Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.

Not sure if there are huge sales now, but we go to Grove city Premium Outlet in PA (4 hours away from Toronto). No Tax on clothes, but tax on luxury good like Coach...
We always end up picking up something, but not a same day trip, we always stay 1 night in hotel and come back next day.

Best deals are the clearance racks ..always at the back of the stores...worth the trip...luck of the draw when you go though....Chicken wings are worth the drive if the shopping doesn't work out..

How long you staying in the States? If not long ... not worth your while.

Besides .... the exchange rate sucks.

It's hit and miss. All the really good deals are clearance items even factoring exchange rates.

Grove City is better, but it's a bit further out and probably spend a night.

So i went over to the fashion outlet to check it out, and i was disappointed. Prices where good but after factoring in the exchange rate, and potential tax at the border it was either equal or more than the price of the same thing at the Collection Outlet at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Didnt get anything, so save your time if you want to go over. Just go to the collection outlet.

Funny thing is coming back I had a laugh with the Canadian border agent. He said there nothing good there, but hope i had something lunch at least.

Make sure you have Amazon's Visa credit card for 1% cash back and no additional foreign exchange fees. Or the Roger's MC with 1.75% and no additional foreign exchange fees.

I've declared $100 or so per person for a couple of hours day trip and never ever got charged taxes/duties.

I did buy a TV from Samsung.com and picked up at CBI and of course paid taxes on it.

I've found Vaughan Mills had better deals than Toronto Premium outlet.

I hate saying this, but the deals on Amazon.com (US) edition are often better than many deals that you find in the outlets here or in the US.

If you just want to save $, you can go to the Outlet in Halton Hills, just outside of Mississauga. It's almost identical to the one in Niagara, but it's only a 30-min drive from DT Toronto

Outlet malls are being outed as almost scams. Just saying, but if you think you re gettign a deal, you re probably not.
"The percent of merchandise in today's outlet stores that are irregulars or factory seconds is around 1% to 5%.
What's there is stuff being specifically made for outlet stores. The goods are designed for outlets only using ]inferior stitching and subpar material. You'll almost never find what's being sold in the outlet store in the traditional retail store. It may look the same, but it's not."

Cost wise it isnt worth it. However they (US in general) have better selection, and might sell different items. That might be worth it depending on the type of person you are/

interesting.
How about for the purse, like Coach, Kate Spade, MK, etc..
Are those purse also have inferior quality than the one we find in our local shopping malls?

In North Face, the jackets often cross out and said no warranty on the tag, I believe that's is what the article is referring to?
Same for MK jackets, I've seen a store in Galleria in Buffalo selling those for $59.99 and the same jacket goes for $299.99 in our malls. Although there is red mark on the tag of that MK jacket for $59.99USD

Purses are what caught my attention in a Marketplace program. My Wife wanted some and the program basically said, the outlet mall purses are of inferior leather, stitching, lining and clasps. Not at all the same as the real deal.

I've bought a few high end replicas for my wife in the past ($200-400 Chanel/Prada/Hermes etc) but I have no idea who is a reputable online seller now. You used to be able to go to Pacific Mall and ask for the good stuff hidden from view, a few RCMP busts and they're shutdown and not so prominent.

There was a time we ordered straight from online Coach, you had to have a bogus invite and RFDers pm'd coupon codes. These days, she's not that into them anymore and we might wait for a sale at The Bay. They had some deals around BF and boxing day, and they'll probably go on sale AFTER Valentine's day like chocolates lol.

We just got back from a cruise out of Cape Liberty NJ and didn't bother clothes/handbag shopping on the way back even though we had $800 each in exemptions. The exchange isn't worth it.

It's definitely true outlet merchandise is specifically made for outlets although we've never had clothes or good handbags fall apart. I mainly look at the cut and style to see they're relatively current. That's a pitfall shopping in TJX stores where it's a brand but possibly an outdated trim. Marshalls and sometimes Costco behind glass I've also seen luxury handbags.

I've never bought outlet NF, I rather have the lifetime warranty and we've exercised it twice, fairly easy process, one time they sent back a new coat.

Agreed.. if you really take notice a vast majority of stores at these outlet malls are selling subpar quality

An easy example is the Guess stores, try to find anything from one of their normal stores in an outlet and vice versa.. you won't! They name their different style of jeans, none of those styles can be found in an outlet.. even just feeling the fabric you can tell

I'm surprised this outlet mall charade is allowed to continue as it has, I consider it deceitful
