Fast VPN service??

Hey guys,

I've been trying out VPN services ever since i got that letter from Teksavvy. Tried Private Inernet Access and Vanish IP. PIA is too slow for me, Vanish is a bit better i get about half the speed of what i normally would. But still not that great. Is there a Faster VPN out there????

I've also been looking for a decent VPN as well. Don't know much about it. Not for downloading or torrent or anything like that, but simply to watch US streams on TV and XBMC. I've been using OkayFreedom (there was a free 1 year free promo a few weeks back), and it was okay (my first go at VPN). Was able to get 720p streams decently, with almost no buffering. I think on the speedtest I ran I was getting around 5 to 7 mbps (my actual internet speed is about 25).

Also tried a trial of cyberghost and one other one I don't recall the name of, but they were both awfully slow for US servers (was getting around 1 or 2 mpbs). Oddly enough, so far for me, OkayFreedom has been the fastest (and apparently it's kind of a "no-name" VPN from what I read). Funny because when I first tried it I was annoyed at how slow it was, but me being new to the whole VPN world, apparently they are all slow, and okay-freedom has held up well.

But I'm still looking for something else. Preferably at least as fast as OkayFreedom, but something that can autostart with VPN on for a US server. That's one annoying thing with OkayFreedom, even though it autostarts, I have to manually turn it on for the US server. My media PC is set to auto-launch directly to XBMC.

I was with Cactus last year and just started with Pure this year. No complaints really. PureVPN has a beta Split Tunnel feature that seems pretty cool, but not working for me (win7 x64) at the moment. Both were around the same price $50/year. Decided to give Pure a try as they had more servers, and wanted to see how others are in general. Even for torrents, Cactus had only 1 server.

Have tried few others short term basis, but was not impressed. HMA, although has tons of server, I found they were really slow, and way more expensive. Cyberghost with slow for me as well.

speedtest i get about 17 mb, with Vanish i get about 8mb, I notice even at 8mb, sites take longer to load and streaming on icefilms isnt the greatest for 720, netflix is good. But Torrenting is very slow for me.

Roll your own.
Fastest I've seen is 900mbps up/down via OpenVPN. I'm sure I could tweak it for higher if I had 10gbps but I'm cheap and all my servers are gigabit.

I've used PureVPN, Cyberghost and PIA over the last few years, and am currently using PIA. PIA (I believe most of them do this) installs a 10 Mb virtual adapter so you won't get any better than 10 Mb on those . I found Cyberghost slow at times but usually switching servers solved that problem. I've had no trouble maxing out the adapter @ 10 Mb with PIA on the Netherlands server. I'm also with Teksavvy on their 50/10 dsl service.

PIA is pretty good, I only turn it on when I need to. I'm not a heavy downloader, I got bored with porn lol

IPVanish is good, by the way you should have fast internet as well to get fast speed with VPN.. You can check out the details of Le VPN, I have tried it and got 15mb to 17mb speed with my 30Mbps Fiber Optic Broadband connection.

I set up my own VPN (OpenVPN) on my VPS that costs $20/year. It works well, it's cheaper than many dedicated VPN services I've seen, and you can use it for other things like hosting websites at the same time. This is the one I'm using.

Zero speed issues using PIA. Speeds are only slightly lower then my limit of 60/10. Excellent vpn.

Using Air VPN for years. For torrents I find it great. All VPNs will give varied speeds depending on the location, you are connected to, and the amount of users at the node at that particular time.
