Fee-based financial planner/investment professional

I'd like to please get some recommendations for a fee-based financial planner/investment professional in the GTA - preferably in the Richmond Hill/Markham area. My father is nearing retirement age and has a need for some advice.

Thank you

By "fee-based financial planner/investment professional" do you mean someone that charges a % of assets to select and manage investments, or someone that charges a flat fee to prepare a plan?

Here are some links you can check...

I use Caring for Clients and find them to be excellent, but they are downtown Toronto (Yonge and King), so not your desired location. www.caringforclients.com

I also created a pdf list of questions to ask when selecting a planner, and posted on dropbox here.

Does your father already do his own investing? Getting someone to do a plan is not that hard, nor is creating an investment portfolio. The real difficult part is having the discipline to stick with a plan through bull and especially bear markets.
