Got a used CODA modem, but getting the 250-300 as well.
[Fido] 150u Home Internet for $45/month + 9GB Cell Phone Plan for $40/month YMMV

I'm currently only get 80-110 on speedtest, but over wifi. My router is an ASUS AC1900. Should it be better than I am getting?sirjimitron wrote: ↑ For people who have the Fido 150U set up but are only getting 90-95 Mbps download: I had the exact same problem and it turns out it's because my 6 year old cheap router only had a 10/100 Ethernet port, so the download speed is maxed at 100 Mbps. I went out to buy a gigabit router for 70 bucks and my download speed is now 270+ Mbps.

I just got my modem. It's the white hitron modem (same as Rogers). The modem does look a bit old but I'm getting over 200+ mbps. Somehow when I run a speed test or check my IP it's still showing my provider as Rogers? Do I need to do anything to change the IP address to show it's actually a fido ISP?

If your router has gigabit ethernet, hardwire a pc or laptop to the router and see what you get.davidj8580 wrote: ↑ I'm currently only get 80-110 on speedtest, but over wifi. My router is an ASUS AC1900. Should it be better than I am getting?
AC1900 can theoretically go well over 110mbps, but there are a lot of factors (distance, interference, etc) that can throttle it. Best to hardwire to check your connection and then start troubleshooting your wifi network.

Just did a test with my laptop (Dell XPS) over WiFi (Google WiFi connected to CGN3U), see the attached image.davidj8580 wrote: ↑ I'm currently only get 80-110 on speedtest, but over wifi. My router is an ASUS AC1900. Should it be better than I am getting?
Did a test with my iPhone XR and got 118/14.
Did another test with my Pixel 2 XL and got 197/16.
All tests were done one right after the other while sitting in the same spot.
Try hardwired to the router to see if it makes a difference. Or try a different device.

Your router has a gigabit ethernet port and should be able to handle the speed. Did you do the speed test while connected to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi as opposed to the 2.4 GHz one?davidj8580 wrote: ↑ I'm currently only get 80-110 on speedtest, but over wifi. My router is an ASUS AC1900. No you're good - it will always show as a Rogers IP address. Fido is owned by Rogers and Fido internet relies completely on Rogers infrastructure.AmirF665 wrote: ↑ I just got my modem. check your wifi. Probably you are using wifi 2.4G (capped at 150Mbps), not wifi 5G.davidj8580 wrote: ↑ I'm currently only get 80-110 on speedtest, but over wifi. My router is an ASUS AC1900. Should it be better than I am getting?

Anyone know why I might be getting an error when trying to log into the modem to put into bridge mode?
Using Cusadmin / password, but getting Login Failed / Wrong username error. Reset modem and still not working

Try using your wifi password as the password to login to the modem page (not the default password you see online)

Has anybody been able to swap the CGN3U for the newer CODA modem?

Thank you mystery and saudor. Both tips did it. csuadmin + wifi password used to setup modem did the trick.
For others, if you get same error, try this.

Got the modem this morning, just set it up now. Getting 250-300 and 16 upload. Funny enough this is a better speed than what I was getting with my current Rogers 1gbps service.

So with my CODA on 150u rogers, I get 300/15 on 5g. With CGN3 on Fido 150u, only getting 150/10 on 5g. I'm thinking it's the modem.

When you guys/gals return your old modems (to fido store) are you getting a receipt of any kind confirming your drop off?

Happy with the Fido speed so far. Wifi speed is over 280+ and wired over 300+. Chatted with Rogers to cancel my plan and they offered me Ignite 75 Unlimited package $44.06 taxes included.
