[Fido] 15GB for $40 YMMV

Was checking my account today and saw an offer for 15GB for $40.

With the 10GB loyalty promo for 15mo, plan will get down to 25GB for $40

Edit: switching will remove the 1000 LD minutes. I was previously on the $35 for 10GB plan

I'm curious.
Did you just switch to fido? or have you been a long time subscriber?

I got $45/15GB. Confirmed with CSR that I will loose the $10 discount if I accept offer. Account 3 weeks old.

I just switched to Fido about 2 weeks ago right before BF.

I see this offer on my parents account as well but they are currently paying $34 for 11 GB after $11 + $5 in credits. Activated last year.
I assume the credits will be removed if I try to change the plan.

Unfortunately these offers only appear if you're paying less than $XX. So if anyone is paying $40 or more, you won't get this offer. You may have more expensive ones.

I pay $55 for 15GB and my offers are $65 for 35GB or $75 for 40GB. Annoying.

Yea credits will be removed. Any loyalty or bonus data remains. In that case its weighing the option to see if $6 for 4GB is worth it.

Winback plan is much better at 25GB for 45, 10$ off for 24 months.

But this is okay for anyone that can't be bothered to qualify.

yah looks like you lose the $10 discount and the 1000 long distance minutes. Basically incur $5 for 3GB and no LD minutes. (for ref - I have the $50 12gb with $10credit plan)

I too have this, on the $35/$45/$50 10GB BTS plan. Good to know I will lose my $10 credit.

Probably at this rate I'll just hold off. $45/15GB is tempting, but I don't see a reason to pay an extra $10/month for it now...

I just get regular prices less $5.
I ported out recently so I guess no love. I was on a $40/10GB plan and they kept trying to get me to switch to $45/15GB plan.

I just have a tablet line left. Hopefully boxing day has something better.

Best I can see for me now is $45/12GB.

This is not correct, I was $50/10gb and $40/15gb was offered to me. Other lines are $50/15gb (5gb bonus, some reason 1 line didn't get bonus) and offers are $45/$20gb. May be price plan and data amount, it's not based on price alone. Of course YMMV.

Are you in Quebec or Ottawa or any area with a 4th competing carrier?

Same here. I always see offers more expensive than I pay and with more data (obviously). I don't even bother to check anymore.

You are correct. Chatted with Fido about this today. They will offer you more data but for more money than what you are paying right now. I got offered 25GB for $55 as I have 15GB for $45.

Someone in a different thread mentioned, if you keep rejecting these offers they sometimes offer you more data for the same money. Either way, seems like you lose discounts if you have any on your account.

That's definitely part of the trap. Make you give up that discount and pay more for your bill.

Best way is to leave and wait for winback. Loyalty plans suck now and are designed to make you pay more for data you will never use.

I joined fido on the BTS plan $35/$40 for 10gb. Plus I got 2gb bonus added. The first month I was offered $40 15gb because usage was low since it was a partial month.

After a full month, I used around 9gb and the offer changed to $60 30gb as the cheapest offer.

I purposely used less data (under 7gb) last month and my offer reverted back to $40 15gb.

I will probably take it. Pretty good deal as long as price doesn't go up
