Fido $34/month for 11GB (2nd Line Discount + Freedom Port)

Retailer:
The Mobile Shop
Just wanted to share the deal I got yesterday at The Mobile Shop @ Loblaws (not sure when this expires). I have an existing line with Fido ($45/11GB) and was able to port my other line from Freedom to Fido to get an additional $11 off per month for 24 months for the ported line on the $50/9GB plan. This stacks with the $5 discount + 2GB add a line Discount at Fido, bringing my total to $34/month for 11GB. I was also able to get the $40 activation fee waived and 1000 long distance minutes.

I opted to get the Samsung S10 for $19.99/month with 350,000 PC pts (50,000 of those PC pts for trade in). I did this because a family member of mine needed a new phone. The $11/month discount also works for BYOP if you don't want to finance a phone.

This Fido promo is a competitive offer to match Freedoms $39/9GB promo plan (in store only).

Here's the breakdown:

Plan
$50/month 9GB
- $5 +2GB (2nd Line Fido Discount)
- $11 (Port from Freedom Discount)
= $34/month for 11GB (+ tax)

Samsung S10
$19.99/month + tax (ON) * 24 months = $542.13 - 350k points = $192.13

Good luck!

Yes, deal is only from Freedom Port In and add a line to existing account. Expires tomorrow 8th Sep 2020.
Add a line promo is:
$5 off add a line 23mth
$11 off 24 mth appx 1- 2 bill cycle
Also stackable with 2GB bonus, 40 activation credit and 1000 LD MINUTES to selected countries
So $50 plan 9GB - 5-11= $34 mth.

Non-Add a line promo is
Regular deal is $11 off for 24mt if you port from Freedom on 50+ plan with BYOD or Device.
Stackable with 1000LD, 40 act credit, 2GB bonus most likely

So $50 - 11 = $39

Hmm, Interesting, wondering if this works for a single line? Currently with Freedom with a LG G6 I bought used last year, was debating porting from Freedom to Fido for the $40/9GB 1 year Promo, if the $11 can stack with that promo then it'd be $29/9GB BYOP, just a matter of will it work out though? If so then the decision is clear to me.

Great deal for anyone that needs a new phone for sure, in 2 years from now you can expect bigger data buckets and who knows, maybe MVNO's will be around and I'm sure data buckets will be larger with hopefully these discounted prices being regular.

Just confirming the condition from the freedom side is that with freedom you just need to have a plan for $50 or more?

Just an FYI, this Fido offer is in response to one offered from Koodo. If you are in Toronto I can refer you to a Koodo store who can get you the same deal. Any store may be able to help for that matter. Unfortunately their discount also expires in 24 months but I would still rather be with Koodo for the long haul. No idea on expiry date for the offer - it can be yanked or changed + / - anytime in response to competitive pressures.

Correction: Koodo was only 9gb. Check Facebook marketplace as CSR’s post deals there.

As long as you move from Freedom to Fido, and your Fido plan is 50+, it doesn't matter what plan you had with Freedom, of course due your due diligence and check before you move if you have tab or contract outstanding. Pm me if needed
