I’ve got Fido xtra promo for free tablet and free 24 months data plan. But I would like to sell this tablet and buy iPad instead.

I see that Fido has cellular version of 6th gen iPad for a good price ($369) with a 2 year contract. Could I sign up for this plan, take the iPad and cancel this contract and keep the iPad and use it with free data plan I’ve got before? What would be the cancelling fee? Would I just have to pay off iPad price and that’s it?

Fido is weird .. For me the main plan is "Network access plan" and then there is an add-on "Data Only Plan $15.00"...
I just checked mine. It said the plan was LG G Pad with an add on Mobile Internet Flex Rate Plan $15.00/mo (loyalty discount $7.50) Currently I get only 3 GB of data, nothing else.

Very weird. Fido is a random number (word) generator :)

 Seems that way. I guess they have so many different promotions for the same deal they have to use keywords to remember which one is which.

if pre-owned is not an issue, I got the following just this morning...
Ipad 6th gen 128gb, 2 year term.. $8.33/month
$15 tablet plan and sadly with activation fee...

I got 128gb as the rep said 32gb has the same price...
I got 15-day guarantee just in case rep gave me wrong information...
Will probably pay it off after a couple of months because 8.33 tab for 2 years is just $200...

Nice, I did not know you can get financing on a used tablet. Did you get this at a Fido store?

Wow this thread is massive...

As a non-Fido customer, is it still possible to get 4gb/$15? Can someone tell me how (or point to a post in this 675 page thread that describes it?)

Do I call, online, or store, or have a contact for a Fido rep or specific booth/store?

Thanks!

How about the very first post on the very first page plus the Thread Summary that's directly below it?

If that doesn't answer your questions then by all means come back here and help make this megathread even meggier ;)

Update: got the order confirmation email and it shows the device as:
APPLE IPD6L 128GB / Grey

unless there are other ipad devices with 6 in it, I assume that it is indeed the 6th Gen...

An update on my end, I'm currently on a 50% discount for 2 years after a previous 100% discount for 1 year with the older LG G Pad III tablet promo and wanted to get a newer tablet as mentioned in this thread.

After probably my fourth or fifth try, I was finally offered the Samsung Tab A or Huawei Mediapad T5 on live chat. I chose the Huawei and it's coming in a week. I also got to keep my 50% discount and my plan is being upgraded from 3GB to 4GB. I did have to pay the $35 setup fee and it did extend my plan with Fido by at least half a year, but that should be fine. Hopefully I get another loyalty discount before I have to start paying full price again for those last few months :)

Thanks again to all those that help to keep this thread updated with new info. Shoutout to aasoror and bylo in particular!

Morale of the story is "try, try, try again!"

Someone in the other thread reported being offered a refurb gen 5 for $0 (with a $15 2 year contract).

Denied 4 times yesterday at different third-party sellers in malls for not being an existing customer. Two claimed their computer system wouldn't even allow them to bend the policy because it asks for the existing phone number right off the start. All of them suggested a Virgin 2 year contract for $20 per month.
