Screw these high price plans hidden under the guise of "more data is better".

The majority do not need 10gb. This crap began after freedom offered 10gb for $50. That was a good deal because it was $50, not because it was 10gb. Competitors had to follow suit to retain customers.

Then the price went up to $60.. and now it's back to 70-80.

$80 is NOT a good deal. Paying $100 after taxes and voicemail is bad.

Do we need data ? Sure . 10gb? Why not.

But should NOT be paying more than $50 a month for any non subsidized plans.

not really. more and more people are using more data than before.

I thought 6gb was enough for me but nope.

I keep using more and more. I do have Shaw open but it is slow.
Now my bill is $100+ per month without phone subsidy,

I agree the more you have the more you use. I had 4gb, was fine but I would go over sometimes. Then had 6gb for 2 years, only went over a handful of times when I had absolutely no wifi or computer for a few days at a time and I was bored at home.

Now I have 10gb and average about 8gb a month. I went up an average of 3gb just by switching plans. The main reason is because I know I have so much data I don't bother using wifi at home or work if I'm not already connected. So I think if we have it we will use it, but I don't think the average person needs anywhere close.

Also I'm a heavy mobilr phone user and do use my phone a lot (podcasts Spotify and YouTube )

Just keep my trades going (throwing money out) keeps me over 10GB easy. I'm glad I got 15GB from Telus. Traveling will also add extra usage on top of it.

Price per gb is the problem.

Carriers need to stop treating data as some finite resource.

In Australia you get something like 50gb for $50

That's true. It's just money grab. Fido can do unlimited data for 1 year. PM throttled their data to 3mbps.

I wish Rogers infinite plans to be throttled to 3mbps instead of 256kps.

Too bad CRTC won't do anything. Most of the board members are from the BIG 3.

As if you need CRTC to do anything. Do like other countries, force the companies by boycotting. Oh shit, I forgot, we're Canadiens...

don't forget when it came time to increase the 10 GB ($60) plan to $65, Fido was one of the first scumbag telecoms to do it.

This plan will probably be $75 by December.
