Fido has been generous to me since I switched my line on Sept.
45$/line BYOD for 8GB, hassle free. with all credit/waiver/bonus, it's about 20$/line. So I even didn't bother asking during black friday.
Today when I check my account, they are giving away 5GB for free and also hassle free, all you have to do is to click accept button. Instantly I have 8+5=13GB for 20$ for 3 lines.
I guess this is YMMV, but if you ask the online chat maybe you will get it as well.

Does accepting the extra data cause your credits to be removed? Just making sure cause I’ve had issues with Fido before.

the only thing that pops up for me is a stupid 35gb for $60 plan when I used 6gb last month paying $30 a month for 12gb.
As if I'm gonna double my monthly cost when I only use half the data I have now.

I got my free 5 GB about a month ago, I was checking the fido app and it was there just like OP. $30 plan voice/text/1 GB data with a $5 credit. I also have the $5 4 GB tablet plan with the free ZTE tablet. I applied for both plans as a new user back in July. With the extra 5 GB data on my voice/text/data plan, I don't even need the tablet plan, but I am stuck with it. Oh well.

Nothing for me but this thread makes me realize how bad the plan I have is. I got it for my daughter and wanted the cheapest plan they had. It’s $45 for 2Gb. Oh well. Phone was included though for $30/month so probably because of that.
