[Fido] Fido 10G $40 1st line $35 2nd line (NOT BYOD) Free pixel buds type A on 2nd line

Switched 2 lines from Koodo to fido last night at a fido store. 1st line $50 10 Gb plan ($10 bill credit for 24 months so $40) 2nd line $50 10Gb plan ($10 bill credit for 24 months as well as $5 add a line). Free pixel buds type A on the add a line (charged $6.53 per month for 24 months but refunded the same amount).

I declined getting a phone at the fido store as they didn't have any gift cards and was planning on going to WM today but apparently I now need to wait 30 days before I can get a new phone (apparently this is for fraud prevention). I will just wait my 30 days and hopefully there will be some good incentives at that time.

...I think this is only available at fido stores as WM and Costco couldn't offer this plan to me...

This is month to month until I get a phon but if I cancel I would need to pay out the pixel buds tab and wouldn't get the credits for them.

I talked with fido today as I wanted to get rid of the 30 day phone purchase block removed and they confirmed my discounts and phone upgrade ability.

Saw $35 for 10 gb first year and I believe $45 for second year (but could have been $40) and $50 after that. No idea on the minutes. Got details from Fido Lansdowne in Richmond, BC but also saw a same price sign at Fido Aberdeen.

Op is a little bit confusing but s/he is financing the accessories = pixel bud $6/month for 24 months.

Earbud A is currently at $139. It is not a "Free" item since you have to finance it.

So many salespeople use the same pitch. YOU CAN GET A FREE PHONE TODAY. You don't pay anything. It is a $0 phone!

I am paying the $140/24= $5.83 per month plus tax but I am also being refunded the exact same amount..... just like some people get free tablets from fido I got free buds... I have played this cell phone game for years and years (I don't fall for sales scams).

If you want it to be BOYD then you can get $50-($10 for 24 months)- ($5 for 12 months) on first line so $35 per month. Additional lines would be $30 per month.

$6.53 per month including tax. Credit of $6.53 per month applied to offset. I will update it to make it less confusing

Any "Device Balance" on the buds? Would this make it a "contract"?

Is attractive, but i switch 1 of 4 line from Koodo to Fido back in March and regart it.

Here are the issue i have with Fido:

- slow internet, i am sure they throttle during peak hour.
- no call control, so i get tons if spam call everyday.
- hate hate hate hate their tone when i check voicemail. Too loud and sound really stupid.
- Time to time i will get a very brief disconnect (data) like 2sec. I will get a message on screen about data not available and then back to normal. Never have this issue with Koodo.

So i am waiting for good deal to go back to Koodo.

Bright side of RFD: Often find good deal
Dark side of RFD: Tons of stuff that I don't need but still got them because of RFD
