They won't, new activation only, however they gave me $25 off for 12 months.

Can we go to a kiosk to pick up an activation kit (router/modem)?

Does new activation mean internet activation? If I'm already a fido mobile customer, would I be eligible?

Got this deal, easy set up just go to local Fido store and get the modem , hook up existing cable to the modem ( it's the hitron modem) should be operational within minutes. Simple...so far very happy with it

Did it for me last month. I gave them a call to cancel. They asked why, mentioned my promo was ending soon so I was going to switch providers. The rep asked if I would stay with Fido if they renewed the promo ofc I said yes lol and she renewed it. YMMV though

Does anyone have experience with fido internet pricing?
Their site states this:
The current price is subject to any applicable rate increase during or after the promotional period.
or
This Black Friday, get our fastest Home Internet at just $37.50 per month after a monthly credit of 50% off for 12 months! Currently $75 per month (prices subject to change).
which is the same out that Robelus uses to get away with mid contract price increases.
I guess if there is no contract we can call to cancel?

based on their September sale they will do the 1/2 for existing customers!!!
If one says not just talk to someone else to save the time of trying to convince them otherwise

Can I sign up while still on Rogers? They use the same lines. Want to hook it up and ensure all is good before I call and cancel Rogers. Also is service the same quality? Quite happy with Rogers right now but pay close to $90 for 500u (ouch). Can’t get them to lower that since I get no fibre in my building.

yes you can go to a kiosk to pick it up. This is the fastest way to get the modem and set it up. otherwise you'll have to wait a few days for it to be mailed to you.
It's activation of the internet so offer services like mobile doesn't not count and you're still eligible

Anyone know how I can sign up but avoid a hard credit check? I know Fido checks Equifax for new customer.

I'm currently with Rogers home internet and was with Fido for a while last Nov/Dec.

Yeah, that's what I did. No difference in service from what I've noticed other than getting way faster speeds with Fido even though I had the same Rogers plan. Getting 300 down on Fido 150U vs 200 down on Rogers 150U.

They did a credit check on me. Didn't really make a difference. I don't get why people are so worried about their score, doesn't mean much.
