Modem is in bridge mode, connection is wired.

Got a hair over 150Mbps yesterday, but normally it is 130-140 during the day.
No boost either, according to the graph.

Just for fun, I checked the bandwidth between my computer and another one (also wired to the router).
iperf3 reported average bandwidth of ~930 Mbits/sec, so the bottleneck is not the local network.
It's likely your modem, as you should be hitting 150 at min.
I'm running a continuous speedtest program for over an hour now and speeds are averaging 180+.

Edit: why are folks unhappy with carrytel? aren't they all selling the same signal?
On Christmas, they offer me is $43 but they told me to contact them again once my promo is about to expired (Jan 12). I chat with them today. They said the best they offer me is $60 for 150mb and told me that offer changes time to time daily. not sure if they just wasting my time

I was getting 300 mbps for 45 for a year from Rogers today, currently paying $40 for the same but price is locked till Feb. I was hoping to get a better deal but seems like people are happy with 150mbps for $42.

2) I had several service interruptions where they were unreachable.
3) They had no redundancy. There were several incidents when a Rogers cable was cut and Rogers customers were quickly switched to a different one while Carrytel customers waited several days for the fix.
4) Their techs are clueless. I had delay issues with sending email because my email provider does a reverse DNS check on the sender's IP, and their system did not reply to the query, causing a timeout. Even after I told them exactly what needs to be done on their end (return a response, any response, an error will do) they kept insisting that it was something on my end.
5) And don't forget they also use their own VOIP for their business lines. Idiots. When they had that downtime (because the line was cut), there was absolutely no way to contact them because they had no other business phone lines for backup.

Typical Robellus / Fido, I placed my order on Dec. 30th and received the modem in the mail on Dec. 31st. The service hasn’t even been installed by a technician yet (install is tmrw). I received my first bill and I am being charged for the internet service from Dec. 30th, as in the bill counts that as a day of service even though I didn’t even receive the modem yet. And I am being charged for the modem rental from Dec. 31st. Rogers and Fido always have billing issues / “errors”, at this point it is definitely purposeful.

That happened to us as well. I suggest that you contact them, explain the situation and they'll credit you the couple of days or, in my case, a $10.00 credit.

If it isn't resolved to your satisfaction, then escalate to the CCTS. https://www.ccts-cprst.ca/

Most Telecoms/ISP would prefer to resolve the matter without the CCTS being involved.

Am I the only one who doesn't get the higher speed?
mine is fluctuating and barely goes to 150M.

modem is in bridge mode and connected to Netgear R7800 running openwrt.

Fido 150mbps plan will max out at around 18.75MB/s (150/8) after the boost.
That is interesting. I'll have to check it out. With speedtest, I am getting 296 on the 150 plan

Test mine got same "modified" download speed. I tested it on speedtestnet and a Xbox and saw the speed dropped from 297 to 160mbps within seconds. This is different than before and I don't even notice they changed it.

After nearly 12hrs of a continuous speed test, I'm averaging 160.
May be related to network congestion, but the logs also shows stretches of an hour where speeds dropped to 128.

Q: Is Virgin internet any better? Considering the switch because, honestly, I am fed up with the billing errors and the constant need to be chatting to get things fixed. The CC is absolutely stupid. It is hallmarked stupid.

Fido (aka Robbers) has always had billing issues going on for decades. Even from a corporate side.

Serious question: what are you doing to need such speeds all the time?
