Called Rogers to see if they can maintain my 500u for $37 promo expiring in a few months and was offered my same 500u plan but for $50 all in.

Thanks OP.
Gonna try negotiating with Rogers first. If they won’t budge then I’ll jump on this for sure.
Just a quick question. Will I need a router if I switch to Fido? Because I didn’t need 1 with Rogers Ignite. If yes, which router would you guys recommend?
TIA.

I just tried to renew my Rogers $38 / 150u promo rate citing the Fido promo and the best Rogers can offer is $45.

Anyone else have better luck at renewing?

I pay around 70 taxes in for 500u (Rogers), I was offered the same price for 1 Gig line. Honestly at best, shared lines do not make sense, but it's okay. I basically need to get my bill lower not higher speed.

Also any activation charges for this ?

Question to people using 75M is it good for multiple 4k streaming and VPN?

Rogers and Fido has the exact same modem so answer to your question is NO.

I had this 75M deal previously, and when it expired they were willing to give me a $45/month rate that was the promo for everyone else at the time. So I switched to a $39/month offer (or maybe it was $44?) from Rogers for the same service. But I had no luck getting Fido to go lower than $45.

I got the same answer. $50 to stay with them. Since Fido is owned by Rogers I don't think they care, who you go with. I also have used Carrytel before and they buy their service from Rogers. Again they have the same price as Fido or a few bucks cheaper but these guys have unlimited plans so not just 12 months. FYI. Personally I'm going to wait till Friday and see if Bell or Telus comes out with a better plan then switch.

P.S. Below was a google ad I saw for Carrytel when I searched 'bell internet black friday deals'. Only thing I noticed is their site still says $34.99 which expires Nov 28 which makes me think they might have a better deal on Friday 29th. Keep watch.

I called in, took less than 10 minutes. Didn't even need to argue, no questions asked.
