[Fido] Fido IPhone 12 YMMV 33.33/month

YMMV, the deal is available to 1 of my 2 lines with Fido.
IPhone 12 33.33/month without upfront fee. I think it's not bad of deal. Promotion also apply to IPhone 12 mini, 11.

Regular Price for people wondering..
Its $1129. Divided by 24 months, it is $47.

So you are saving around $337.

With Fido, you still have to pay taxes in advance. $135 is 12 percent of $1129, assuming you are from BC.

Why is this not a good deal? How can you get a cheaper iPhone 12, serious?

How so? It's $904 in total for 2 years. If you want an iPhone 12 right now it's $1275 (with tax).

You're missing the part about signing up for a plan with it.
Minimum plan is $45 for 3GB Data.
(45+33.33)*24 = 1879.92

In regards to paying full tax on the phone, the way it works is the discount is added to the plan and not the phone. In my case, the breakdown shows $7.53 taxes in for the $55 plan after $48.34 discount and the device financing shows $94.16 taxes in (no discount) for a total of $101.69 monthly. So in reality, I’m not really paying the full tax on the ridiculous MRSP of $2000 for the S20+ as long as I stick with them for 24 months. When I got the device, it was advertised as $34.99 plus tax monthly x 24 for the S20+ with the free earbuds.

The breakdown will probably be the same for the iPhone. If you already have a plan and need a phone and don’t mind a 24 months contract, why not....but I’m seeing $364 down, so not seeing any savings here...at least in Ontario.

Thanks for the break down, make sense now. Like I said, the offer looks YMMV as I only see it available to 1 of my 2 lines. The plan I have is $55/20gb which I am quiet happy with.

It's account and line specific, I only get the offer in one of my 2 lines.

Be patient guys, in my opinion, summer is the worst time to buy a new iPhone.

4 months later, you will see iPhone 13 (or 12S)
6 months later, BF will start, and you probably will see promos like the last one, 30/m on iPhone 12 + a $300 bestbuy/Costco/Walmart GC + maybe $10 off on your plan for 24 months

But OP said their line is eligible for the phone at $33.33. So, I’m guessing they can keep their current plan and get the phone at said price. And plus, you’re going to pay for the plan regardless, so you’ll end up paying more if you bought the iPhone 12 outright at Apple (or) other vendors.

This deal + plan > plan + outright

It’s mid May and new iPhone is announced in September/October. Wait 3 months to get either this cheaper or get a newer gen at almost same price.

Best time to get a new iPhone is always Black Friday as you get good deals and your new iPhone remains newest for at-least 10 months after purchase.

Scores don’t matter, since it could be anti-Apple users downvoting it. I have seen many threads get downvoted because it’s Apple or Android related (fanboys will be fanboys). And the users I quoted still haven’t replied with a sensible comment on why I, and my math, are wrong. Heck, even you didn’t correct it, you went straight to accusing the score lol.

Look at reply #10
Doesn't matter if this were a S21 or iPhone 12. Has nothing to do with the phone, its the deal isn't worth it.
