[Fido] Fido loyalty offer $85 10gb large plan

I got this loyalty offer from fido in my email, $85 10gb large plan. It may not sound as hot but considering this is a Large plan, it comes with $550 phone subsidy which is pretty good.
I had 10gb $80 Medium plan.

It’s kind of sad that they are giving their Winback customers this plan for $15 less per month and are throwing in a free iPhone X.
I am a Zoomer customer.

Dude I left Fido for Koodo, they called me and gave me 10GB for $52.50 ($70 plan with 25% off for 24 months).

I got this plan a few months back.

Fido offered it to me with a free s9+ so I took the bate.

I had the 10 gig 60 plan so essentially the phone cost 600 bucks, and when I purchased at the mobile shop they offered 150 in credits when I traded in an old junker of a phone.

I called yesterday. Customer since 2002. I currently have 10 gb for $80. Was offered an S9+ for $79.
2 plans offered:
1) 10 + 3 GB for $95.
2) 6+3 GB at $115 less a 25% discount for 12 months.
Both offers included a one time bill credit of $50.
My contract isn't up til Nov so I owe $76 on my last phone.
Today the S9+ is up to $129 so I wonder if there are any new promos. Not really willing to pay $155 to upgrade to an S9+ early. Not really willing to pay more than the $80 I'm currently paying either.

Contract ended with Fido - want the new pixel 3 or 3xl, so waiting to upgraded at the end of year when the best deals for phone are available. Switched to a BYOD plan (still using Nexus 6p) was offered unlimited text/calling and 4 gigs/mth for $41.25/mth through the retention department. I was told to hold off getting a new phone until December since that's when they have the best deals for phonea/plans.

I am on the $80/10 GB PLUS15 plan and got offered this $85 plan for the iPhone XS 64 with the following terms:
- waive my existing device balance of $190 (iPhone 8)
- $150 bill credit
- $150 backpocket/goodwill

It brings the total out of pocket cost of the iPhone XS to $579+tax. Sell my iPhone 8 for $400 or so on kijiji (still includes 1 month warranty). So my OOP cost for the XS is about $200.

I know it’s not stellar but at least it gets me a loyalty large plan which gives me a better discount on my next phone than the old plus15 did. And I was never looking for a “free phone”, I don’t mind paying a few bucks for new tech.

Saves me the hassle of switching to Freedom and potentially getting sh#%tty coverage, no VoLTE and no flat rate roaming. (I know roaming isn’t super cheap on Fogers but I prefer paying the cost than taking the time to get a temporary SIM in a foreign country and going without my Canadian number on vacation)

I still have to think about whether it’s worth it, but I’m leaning yes, if I like the XS. Not sure if FaceID is right for me and I don’t use a case on my phone and the X phones are super-delicate!

Two years later...
Phone paid off. $85 Plan 10 GB got an offer to be 20 gigs just before contract ended so I took it. Hopefully it will help with subsidy if I do a pay up front plan for the iPhone 12
