[Fido] Fido Winback Deals: $50/15GB unlimited Talk canadawide, unlimited text worldwide

Saw someone posting a plan about getting a call from Fido WB and mentioned the plan. No intention of hijacking the thread but I can’t find the thread on RFD.

I called Fido and asked that I got a call from a phone number that I couldn’t take. They asked for a phone number that I had with Fido and ported out to PM about 2 years ago. I was given Another phone number (1.855.343.6946) by Fido for callback. Someone picked it up on the first ring and after a few minutes of checking , she was able to offer me the same plan.
$50 - BYOD - 15 GB/ unl talk and text, us calling - +cad5 that gives 1c per minute calling.
For iPhone 11 (64GB), it was $95 on xxl.

I am currently on the PM -$50/8GB plan and expecting the new sim late this week. Porting will be done once I receive the SIM card.

Received the SIM and porting is completed. All good.

NOTE: This is NOT For New Customers but for the people who at some point were with Fido and that is a huge YMMV too.

A very good plan, cannot really ask for better , but isn't Fido notoriously known to rIse prices shortly after ?
Still a Public Mobile customer.
Looking forward to dotmobile.

I'm on the $65 for 10Gb BYOD right now with Fido, and had been eyeing for a new plan for a while now.

This is dope!

If I wanna jump on this deal, do I need to cancel my Fido first, go somewhere else (i.e. PM), and then contact Fido with that 855 number or wait for them to call me by chance?

You can just wait usually they don't transfer you anyways and prefer to call you back. You will have to port out first.

Does it matter what company I port out to? I'm thinking Koodo right now.

I'm on $40 / 2 GB. Good enough

Why people need more than 2GB nowadays if there is free internet everywhere.

I don't know why anyone would pay $40 for 2gb, especially since there are much better packages almost anywhere.

I don't even understand why you would even bother to comment about this since it doesn't have much input to OP's post. Also, I hope you're on a contract with a phone on that price plan. Otherwise, that plan is pretty expensive.

Also free internet isn't everywhere, hence why some people need a lot bigger data buckets (myself included).

That would be taking a chance. Porting out doesn’t guarantee you will get called. I wasn’t.

Why is there always someone like you commenting like this on RFD?

OP is sharing a deal that's $50 for 15Gb and here you are, coming out of the woodworks and be like "hey hey hey, I m happy with 2Gb cuz I'm 100 years old, and paying $40 bucks, look at me!"

Wait, so let me get it clear.

You were originally with Fido 2 years ago?

Then you moved on to PM.

"I called Fido and asked that I got a call from a phone number that I couldn’t take." what did you mean by this? Did you get a call from Fido at all?

And now you are moving from PM back to Fido via this $50/15Gb deal.

Is this what happened??

So for someone currently on Fido(me) to replicate this deal, I gotta move away from Fido, then either wait for a call back from Fido or contact them myself like you did?

Wow I dont know what to say. I wish this is the case where I live but you cannot assume that just because you have Internet everywhere, that it is the same case with everyone.
