As far as I know right now I have heard no mention of that happening, I am looking on your account individually, and I am not seeing that the discount will expire, If it will expire there will likely be a series of emails / texts from Fido about it before it happens, but I have not heard of it happening

No sim cost for me for two devices but had to pay activation.

sim card fee it seems some have gotten out of but I don't think anyone got out of the activation fee.

Can't get out of the activation fee, but the SIM card fee is negotiable. I was lucky and didn't have to negotiate as I was never charged a fee to begin with. They just told me it was $75+tax first month and $60+tax every month after.

I haven't gotten an email either, but I spoke with someone via chat and my account is in the system. I was told I may not get an email until after I receive my sim and activate my phone on their network.

I tested my fido LTE, the download is 17 Mbps and upload is 8, is this normal?

Yeah that doesn't seem unusual. Data speeds will vary depending on where you are. I was getting 32 Mbps download speeds in Yorkdale, but 10 Mbps download speeds at home in North York.

I hope you are aware that call forwarding is only for local numbers (or canadian) definitely not international numbers. so there you go..

For me call-forwarding is extremely useful, because I rotate between 3, sometimes 4 phones, so I would call-forward my main # to whichever phone I'm using. I also use Wind for USA roaming, so I would call-forward my main # to my Wind # when travelling in the US.

I was told by Fido chat rep and confirmed in store, that sim cards are free. Basically $15 per line covers $10 sim card and $5 activation fee. Didn't pay a cent for my sim cards.

It might be faster, depending on your reception to the closest tower. After living with Wind/Freedom for 4 agonizing years I wanted to switch to a carrier with the best indoor reception, and based on my research it appears that Rogers/Fido has the best average indoor reception in the GTA.
