Why are people calling this warm...? $60 for 5GB of data and a phone is already a decent deal, then you factor in that you're getting a $1500 phone for $113... what's the catch? Isn't this pretty hot?
If you accidentally become a loyal Fido customer, it is an invitation to be abused. The deal itself is fine. Not my cup of tea, because it is an iphone, but if that is your thing, it is all good.

So how does cancellation work? I’m currently on the Koodo $40/6GB. Ported over from Fido with the PM Koodo loophole. So if I give up this plan to go to Fido $60/5GB. I will lose an extra 1GB not big deal. I will stay with Fido for about 6 months to use all my $300 bill credit. So to cancel, I just pay the tab balance? What would that be? If I do cancel, I will go back to Koodo $49/6GB since I originally and still have a 819/QC area code

I don't see that anyone has called it warm (edit: other than OP, as pointed out to me by fatcowxlive!) . I haven't upvoted yet because OP is still waiting for confirmation, I think that's probably where most of the hesitation is. Kiranreddy seems to have got it, once OP confirms I will upvote. It is a flaming, glowing hot deal if confirmed!

This deal has been going on since early this year. Check the Fido retentions thread in Ongoing Deals. I got this deal back in March.

Yes, you would just pay the tab balance. However, unlike with Koodo, where they apply any credits to your device tab balance, with Fido they put the full retail device cost on your "tab", so your device balance at the end of 6 months would be 75% of the device cost, in this case $1,011.75 (maths: total device cost / total months * months remaining = 1,349 / 24 * 18 = 1,011.75)

Fido does not have caller id with this bundle? And what about data add on’s i would say i average 3-5gb per month so I would not feel as 5gb would be enough
Caller ID meaning name display who ever is calling. I asked the additional data question and the sales people do not know what happens after 5GB data. 5GB would be enough for me so I did not think more about it. 75 dollars after 25% discount plan gives 10 GB.

Oh thanks man! So it’s not worth it to leave. Must stay with them for 2 years. But for me Telus/bell always better then rogers. Rogers isn’t bad but not as fast at bell/Telus. But I get $900 off an iPhone X if I jump on this. Hard decision....

question. My brother-in-law has one fido line with 2GB and paying 50$ which 2YR contract is coming to end in Nov but he moved his second fido line to public mobile a year back just Talk & Text.

Is this possible?
He brings his second line to Fido with this 60$ 5GB plan. (if he gets the winback offer) on his account
Once it is ported, can he switch the numbers between the 2 plan. i.e. Line 1 from 2GB to 5GB and the Line 2 from 5GB to 2GB. Has anyone done this with Fido?

The plan is that once the lines are switched, he can port his original line 2 out again after the contract ends in Nov. He wants to retain his primary number with data and with Iphone X (if he gets it) :)

I'm not either, but it's a $1500 phone. I pay $55 a month already with Fido on a BYOP, pay $5 a month more + $113 for a $1500 device that I can flip immediately was my thought process.

inb4 Freedom is the worst carrier comments.

I used to be a Fido customer - I will try and call to see if I qualify.

If I do qualify... I need help from the RFD mathematicians.
I have $653.08 left on my tab = $731.45 after taxes
Currently paying $72.80 a month (BIG GIG plan $50/10GB and $15 for iPhone 8 64GB)

Should I jump on this if I can sell my iPhone 8 for $600?

thanks!

Oops! Don't know how I missed that! You're right!
OP should update once confirmed, this is a blazing hot deal IMO, and the comments seem to agree too.

How recent should one have been a Fido customer to be considered for a Winback? Anyone know?
I got out of fido in 2015 and they still offered me the deal.

Thanks kiranreddy, this is what I needed to hear to try myself. It's been a while since I was a Fido customer but sounds like it's worth a shot!
