[Fido] Motorola Edge+ @ $9.99/mo for 2 yrs ($240)

If you're looking to sign up or upgrade, or switch to Fido, and you can stomach a 2 year contract, then this is an amazing price for this phone.

In terms of core specs, this is roughly on par with a Samsung S20:

Don't you have to pay tax on the whole amount though?

You pay tax on the device monthly fee, so it's $9.99/mo + tax on top of your monthly plan fees.

Yeah complete BS, so this deal is only for those who fully intend to stick with Fido for 2 years.

I did this when it was $15/month with Fido. Wondering if they would honour this new price going forward...doubt it....anyway the phone itself is phenomenal for the price. Helps that I'm locked into a 25 GB / $45 month plan so no problem staying for the next year and a half or so.

I would stay away from this phone. Got two units from previous Fido deal, both of them had screen issues. Ended up returning them.

It's an excellent phone that may have issues. I had one, no issues, but was very hard to sell when I wanted to make a change. Based on what I hear anecdotally Moto phones have issues when it comes to the flagships.

From the Fido page, I see "Taxes extra, based on full price of device, and financed over 24 months", which I take it as paying $9.99/mo + ((taxes on $2000) / 24). For BC, that works out to be about $20/mo after taxes or $480 total over 2 years. Did you sign up? Can you confirm it is indeed taxes on $9.99/mo and not the full device price? Rogers/Fido is so sneaky with their BS device prices.

Edit: my math sux pre-coffee.

There is a reason they are almost giving this away.

I confirmed they're doing the tax for BEFORE they apply the discount, otherwise it would have been $1.29 /month for tax, not 10 and change, That effectivly makes this device ~$22/month for 2 years (in ontario anyway)

Yeah Rogers and Fido been doing this for a few years now, which is very misleading and false advertising.

They'll say that regular price is $40 a month then show it's $30 off for just $10 a month now, but then on actual billing, you'll be charged $40 plus taxes AND then minus the $30 so it ends up being $15.20 a month instead of $11.30 (ON taxes)

In this case for the Moto Edge+, that's even higher due to the discount being $70+

Anyone talking about taxes being due on the pre-discount amount, I don't know where that's coming from, nor can I explain the stupid line items on the monthly fee breakdown, but the amounts are correct.

If I pick a $45/month plan, the total cost is $63.24 with taxes, which is correct (45 + 9.99 * 1.15 = 63.24).

Same with myself as well. Still have no issues with the one I ordered in Jan this year. And before ordering I had confirmed on a few different online chat sessions that however they adjust the price, on my monthly invoice it amounts to the $15 plus taxes on just that amount. So I have no issues with it whatsoever.
