[Fido] Online Only: Google Pixel 5 $480 - Pixel 4A $240 + $100 Bill Credit + $50 Referral!

Fido is currently offering the Google Pixel 5 for $480 ($20/month x 24 months) and the Google Pixel 4A for $240 ($10/month x 24 months) AND

As part of their Black Friday promotion:
"When you upgrade to select smartphones on Data, Talk and Text plans with Fido payment program. You’ll get a $100 bill credit and we’ll waive the $45 setup service fee. That's $145 savings!"

I was able to keep my existing plan (minimum $45 before credits) and will be paying $13.04 (after taxes) per month for 24 months for a Pixel 4A + I received a $100 bill credit, effectively making the total price for the device $212.96. Same applies to the Pixel 5! I'm an existing customer, but as far as I'm aware this is available to new customers as well.

EDIT:

Bestbuy is offering a $100 BestBuy GC for the Pixel 4A, and a $175 GC for the Pixel 5. You would still have to pay $45 activation fee.

TheMobileShop is offering 100,000 Optimum Points for the 4A, and 150,000 points for the Pixel 5. You would still have to pay $45 activation fee.

EDIT2:

Fido is offering a referral bonus of $50 for existing customers to refer new customers + activation fee is waived ($45 value). This is for new activations only, but combined with the $100 bill credit this is the best deal thus far.

Mod Edit: To keep this thread open, do not offer or request referrals.

Do you see below when you check out? If both $100 applies (-$200?) then I’ll consider this deal to be super hot!

“ONLINE EXCLUSIVE
$100 bill credit when you activate or upgrade to select smartphones on Data, Talk and Text plans with Fido payment program.

OFFER APPLIED!
Save $100 on your next bill“

No, I was confused about this as well and contacted a rep. I can confirm only a single $100 one-time bill credit applies! Still the cheapest I've seen for a Pixel 4A through carrier, it's ~ 60% off retail price.

no value in paying it off early. You're getting a discount in the form a monthly credit - so you have to remain a customer for 24 months to receive the full discount.

4a is non 5g version, not sure if should go with the 4a or splurge on 5 :)
Rogers deal sounds like it's a little bit different in that the $100 includes a $45 setup fee, versus the Fido deal that waives the setup fee in addition to providing a $100 bill credit

Let me get it straight. You pay $10 for 24 months plus receive an additional $100 bonus?

This would make the phone $140, yes?

Please clarify.

Thanks.

sorry, it sounds like rogers is doing $55 credit + $45 connection waived =$100 total vs fido $100 credit + $45 connection waived = $145 total

No, because the bill credit is applied after taxes.

Breakdown:
$26.38 (including taxes) - monthly price of the Pixel 4A
minus $13.34 - monthly phone credit
(13.04)*24 = $312.96
minus $100 bill credit
= $212.96

Don't forget that taxes are applied on the original price and then they credit you.
So for the Pixel 5, it would be 39.59 * your taxes - 19.59 = the additional price you pay per month on top of your plan, tax included.

Does it normally take a while to receive a confirmation email from Fido?

Mine shows $8.45 in taxes on $65 of financing + monthly plan. Should I be expecting more? More specifically, I'm being charged $5.15 HST on $39.59, but $3.30 HST on $45 less $19.59.

I don't see the $100 credit I guess 'cause my monthly plan is less than $45. Well, still tempted to get pixel 5 even without the $100 credit.

All I've been wanting is a pixel 4a deal since it launched... I wonder if this will be the only one.

It's just hard to switch from Zoomer's 5 GB for $36...

While checking out this deal, I got a pop-up to save another $100 off my device as you can see in the bottom of my screenshot. Not sure how this would work since the offer now shows up as $100 off my next bill, which should already be $0 after the $100 bill credit offer? YMMV
