Just got a very good offer from Fido tonight after I ported out my number to Public Mobile. Basically the same 4GB, unlim talk/text. $60/month + $150 down for an iPhone 7 on 2 year contract. Just started my 3 month 12GB plan with PM yesterday .

It depends on the employee I guess. I know when I worked at BB, most of the scumbags I worked with wouldn't bother telling customers these things since all they cared about was making sure their monthly numbers looked good.

more of a scam of the pacific mall sign - they don't even put $50 for the first six months - that's 100% meant to intentionally mislead people.

Just confirmed with my friend who is a manager at a Fido store.

This is the plan that Fido is offering and if you are a new customer, you will get $10 off for 6 months.
New activations/customers only. Doesn't apply to plan change etc or existing customers.

This is pretty good because Canada Wide is always a bonus. I have unlimited but never reached 1000 Minutes. I don't think anyone will nowadays unless they use their phone for calling " customer services" because those takes 40 mins+ per call

Never forget to get a referral to offset the transaction and/or SIM card fee.

Long story short I ended up signing 2 lines on 2 years contracts. I missed the rogers deal and was ready to move ahead with the $50 for 6 months, which by the way can be negotiated to be forever the couple beside me was able to after I heard them mention it. I did ask them about it after and they showed me the contract. I could have gotten the same but after talking to sales person they did have multiple promotions going on that aligned with what I wanted. Promotions they had were the following:

Double your data 2GB = 4GB on new contracts
$75 Trade-in value fido blackbook offer
$100 Trade-in value fido offer

I needed 2 lines mine and my wife's

$75 + $67.50 = $161 taxes in

Keep in mind I'm coming from a very painful (Rogers) plan:

The salesperson also gave credits for

1 x $10.00 sim card
1 x $10.00 sim card
1 x $15.00 new line activation
1 x $15.00 new line activation
1 x $50 unlocking fee (not sure what the heck this is but its a line item in the fido contract)
1 x $50 unlocking fee (not sure what the heck this is but its a line item in the fido contract)
1 x 175.00 for my banged, scratched, chipped nexus 6 (not 6P)
About $200 of accessories (cases and screen protectors for both phones, car chargers, car mounts, portable chargers)

Hard to believe so I uploaded bill of sale with all the credits. I was fairly happy paying a now lower monthly rate and didn't have to spend extra to cancel current plan.

I also had to backup and wipe my phone on the spot not ideal but was pretty smooth for the most part.

I would bite on this. But only if could sort out roaming issues when inside their LTE listed area on coverage map.

Fido is very good, I switched from Rogers in the last November.
