I got the same text. You need to sign into fido.ca to see the offer, go to HUP (hardware upgrade) and find the X/XR...I just did and yep it's $0 on an XXL plan, which is a pretty sad offer.

It's a bit comical that Fido management in the text call it a "great offer for our loyal customers"...when in actuality if you sign out of your fido account to see what's offered to the public/new customers, it's still $0 for iPhone X 64gb...but i did notice that the XR becomes $99 externally instead of $0 internally, that's the only diff i see.

Isn't that a bit (very) misleading...?

Anyways, let's follow them and do the math on this "great loyal offer"...
I'm currently on a BYOD $40/5GB
The XXL plan = $128/5GB (i checked both internally and externally, same price)
So...$128 - $40 = extra $88/month to get the phone
($0 down) + ($88 x 24 months) = $2,112.....so you'd pay double the retail price of the phone........? Rather than simply buying it outright.......

Did i miss something here guys? Lmao

I have contacted Fido several times to attempt to get a decent offer for a better plan and/or decent handset(IPhone) upgrade offer. I had already communicated with:
- 3x with chat csr (not helpful PLUS deleted my remaining fido dollars that they couldn't add back)
- 2x with telephone csr who claimed to be retention specialists but could not offer anything better than what was on the website
- 2x with retention rep (not willing to price match Fizz plus said better offers offered through "Winback" that they could not offer)

Last week, I gave Fido one more try before the end of my billing cycle to see what deal they would be willing to offer a 10yr/2 lines loyal customer with a 49$/6G+2G plan. I was calm, polite and firm about them definitely being able to find something that was close to a Winback discount. These are the different options they offered me...note that I am from Quebec and I was told the offers were "targeted loyalty offers"...except for retentions obviously.

First offer (regular csr):
51$/10G BYOP
44$/6G BYOP
80$/8G XXL plan + 0$ IPhone 256G:
8 (-99$) ; 8plus (-219) ; XR (-299)
66$/10G M plan
90$/15G L plan

Second offer (retentions):
Per line: 25% discount off regular monthly plan fee for 24 months plus $$ iphone discount quoted from regular csr.

I ended up taking a 2 year contract for the 256G XR at 0$ upfront on the 96$ 8G XXL plan - 25% = 72$/mth. I will be paying only $552 for my new phone and I am super happy about that! Hopefully there will not be a long delay before I receive my phone nor surprise billing errors on my next invoice!

Cheers and good luck!

As my fido 3gb 100% loyalty bonus comes to end I will be without unlimited data. I am a heavy data user.

Currently have Fido Pulse Plus15 $80/mo 10gb Plan.
Talk: Unlimited CanadaWide Minutes
Text: Unlimited Text, Picture and Video Messages from Canada to U.S. & Intl Mobile Numbers
Overage Rate : $5/100 MB
Unlimited Circle Calling
Call Waiting
Conference Calling
Call Display
Voicemail
Fido Roam
Bonus Data: 5gb 24 months
Total Data :15gb

Fido Tablet: $15/3gb

Both Plans Total Data: 18gb for $95/Month

I noticed on my bill that my my 2gb bonus data expired. Called fido was able to negotiate an additional 5gb bonus data/24 months. I used Telus $70/mo 15gb promotion in my negotiation.

tldr;
5gb Bonus data available for existing customers 24 months. Must currently not have bonus data. Use $70/15gb Telus promo to price match.

I'm a 14 year customer that called in regarding my $60/10GB plan going up to $65. Retentions offered me a $30 credit as an equivalent to $5 off for 6 months. Next best offer was a bonus 3gb for 12 months, or $100 for a 64gb iphone xr, $199, 10GB, 2 Year.

Not sure if I am being reasonable here but I don't think what I got was a good deal. Ported out last night to Freedom for the $50/7GB plan (40 for 12 months) and got a call back immediately this morning.

Firm offer: IPhone XR 64 GB $0 down - $67/month 8GB
or Iphone XR 64 GB $200 down - $60/month 8GB

Would not budge on lower price for lower gig

I changed my mind and went ahead with this. My goals was $60 max per month for less gig but I went with Iphone XR 128GB $80 - plan as above...

Just finished talking to Retentions and I was able to upgrade from my iPhone 5 to an iPhone 7 at no cost up front and just a slight increase on my monthly plan. Was paying $45 for 4GB. With the upgrade, it'll be $48.75 for the next 2 years. After that, I'll have to call them again to drop it back down to $45 Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes

Guys...did Fido just drop the prices on all their BYOD plans today?

$50/4gb
$60/6gb
$70/8gb

Didn't notice these lower prices last week on fido.ca...

I made the switch from Fido to public mobile over the weekend and just wanted to share what Fido retentions offered me yesterday (they called my cell which I ported over).

$40 - 5gb pulse plan
$48 - 8gb pulse plan

YMMV, but I did want to share what I was offered. I just left the $60 10gb BYOD plan. The price is going up to $65. I contacted Fido before switching carriers and was only offered an additional 3gb, no option to stay at the $60 rate.
